Abril spent the entire morning pacing back and forth in her room. When she got tired, she sat down and stroked Koda’s fur, but she couldn’t stop worrying about all the injured people because of the monster attack. She wanted to help and use her magic to heal the wounded, but Alessandro had forbidden it; he

didn’t want it to be known that she possessed magic.

She had thought all her life that she did not possess magic, and when everyone said she was useless, she believed it. But that had changed; she possessed magic, a powerful kind that could help many, but she

couldn’t do it, and that made her feel powerless.

The sound of a knock on her door pulled her out of her thoughts, and then she heard Maya’s voice behind

the door.

Abril, it’s Maya. Can I come in?

Of course.”

Maya entered the room, approached Abril, and asked.

How are you?

Abril gave a long sigh and replied.

Fine, how are you?

I’m fine, well, a bit sore, I was beaten up yesterday.

Abril put Koda aside, stood up, and took Maya’s hand.

Let me heal you.

You don’t have to, I’ll be fine.

Please, let me do it, otherwise, I’ll run out of this room to heal the first injured person I find.

Maya saw Abril anxious and asked.

Is something wrong? You look anxious.

I feel powerless not being able to help the injured. Alessandro forbade me, he doesn’t want it openly

known that I possess magic. I can’t do anything for others, so let me do it for you.

Alright.

Abril gently squeezed Maya’s hand and channeled her magic into her. Immediately, Maya felt her sore

body recover, the bruises and fatigue disappeared.

Your magic is incredible. I’ve never felt so good in my life.

I’m glad I could help you.”

I appreciate it, now my journey will be more bearable.

Are you leaving?

They haven’t told you yet? We are going to look for one of the keys to the Gates of Hades.

Alessandro didn’t tell me anything.

Maybe he hasn’t had time, it was decided this morning.”

Who’s going?

Cassian, me, and the two elves; they will show us the entrance to the land of the Fairies.

Good luck, I hope everything goes well.

Me too, for everyone’s sake.”

Abril gave her a hug and said,

Come back, you’re my first friend. I don’t want to lose you.

Maya didn’t respond; she couldn’t bring herself to lie because something inside her told her she wouldn’t return, that this wasn’t a see you later, but a farewell. She returned the hug and said,

I’m very glad to have met you. I also consider you a friend.

The door was open, and Cassian, seeing them hugging, didn’t want to interrupt, but they had to leave, so

he knocked on the door with his knuckles and said.

Maya, we have to go.”

They both separated, and Abril said.

Be very careful on your journey.

Maya replied.

You take care too, what’s coming isn’t easy. No matter the adversity or how dark things seem, remember

that the sun always rises in the end.

Abril gave her another hug, accompanied them to the exit, and even though Cassian said it wasn’t necessary, she went to see them off.

Ethan and Dantriel were waiting at the entrance, and when Ethan saw Abril, he stared at her intently, and

for a moment, he thought it was Sophia who had come to see him off. But his fantasy didn’t last long; it

wasn’t Sophia, it was her daughter Abril who had come to see her friends off.

Ethan wanted to approach and ask Sophia to appear, but Dantriel stopped him and said.

Stop, she is not the one you love, she is not Sophia. You must forget her, Ethan.”

I can’t, until she has completely disappeared. As long as a part of her soul is with her daughter, I won’t be able to forget her. I can’t stop loving her.”

I understand your feelings, but remember, you were never her beloved.”

I know, I remind myself every day, but my heart still won’t listen.
