Forgotten Wife Let the traitors kneel Down (by Patricia Maradiaga) novel Chapter 443

Part II: Tears of Pain1

Alessandro was in his office when he heard something crash against the window. At first, he thought it must have been the rain, but he heard it again, so he got up, opened the window, and a paper bird flew in through the window. It landed on his hand and immediately turned into a letter.

It was Siriusreport, but there was also a letter from Abril.

After reading both, he wished he could be by Abril’s side, wishing he could console her grieving heart.

Cassian knocked on the door.

Lessan, can I come in?

Of course.

It’s dinner time, will you join us?

Sure.

Cassian, seeing his brother downcast, asked him, Has something happened?

Aby won’t be back anytime soon.

Have they encountered problems?

Yes, it seems that the kingdom of Laios is being contaminated by darkness. The land and water have

caused sickness and death. Aby has said she will return after freeing Laios from the darkness.

Maya is doing well now. Maybe I should go to Laios and join Abril.

No, stay here. I think I’m going to need you.

It seems things in Laios are going very wrong.”

Yes, I thought that closing the Hades rift with Aby would be enough, but it seems I was wrong.

It seems defeating King Venobich didn’t make everything end. Sometimes I feel like it was only the

beginning of something bigger.”

I wonder when we’ll be able to be at peace, when all of this will end.

Sometimes I ask myself the same question.

Is Lissana with Maya?

Yes, they get along very well.”

She’ll be a great mother for sure. Now that I think about it, you two still haven’t gotten married. When do you plan on doing it?

Maya doesn’t want to marry me.

< Part II Years of Pain 1

Why not?

Well, when we met, she said she would never get married. She believed it was to avoid the prophecy that

had been mentioned, but that prophecy has already been fulfilled and now we’re together. But she still

refuses the idea of marriage.”

I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.

Don’t worry, I won’t give up. I don’t know why Maya refuses to marry me, but I’m sure I can change her mind. She loves me as much as I love her; it’s just a matter of time until she accepts.

I’m glad to hear that doesn’t discourage you.”

Sometimes it does, but like I said, I won’t give up. You know how stubborn I can be when something gets

into my head.”

I know. I hope you can make her change her mind. I truly want her to be happy, just like Mom and Dad

were.

Yes, I know I will succeed. And when that happens, I want you to be the best man at my wedding.

Of course.

Now let’s go have dinner. Maya is waiting for us.

Maya was in the dining room, moving back and forth, soothing little Lissana. Alessandro was grateful that Maya had Lissana there. He held his daughter in his arms, and seeing her little face made him feel a bit better, helping him cope with his beloved’s absence.

I thought you’d like to see her; that’s why I thought it would be a good idea for her to have dinner with us,

but she’s already sleepy.

Thank you very much.”

Alessandro rocked her in his arms, and soon enough, Lissana fell asleep.

It seems she has fallen asleep.

There was a small crib next to Alessandro’s seat; he gently placed her there and took his own seat. Maya

and Cassian did the same.

The maids served the dishes with food and then withdrew. Once alone, Maya asked, Do you know anything about Abril?

Yes, she is fine, but it seems her trip will be extended a little longer than planned.

Did any problem arise?

Let’s say yes.”

I wish I could help in some way.

Actually, I think you can.

< Part! Tears of Pain1

How?

Your family is in charge of the information guild in Farell, right?

Yes.

Could you ask your brother to come? I want him to search for me.

Barto doesn’t like to leave Farell much, but if I ask him, I’m sure he’ll come.

Thank you.
