Benedict
Sloane is even more amazing than I realized. She’s fucking incredible and I’m having a hard time keeping Marrok in check. He’s ready to lick her all over, then rub his scent all over her just to make sure that she smells like us and anyone who comes into contact with her, including Alpha Will, knows it.
Goddess, I love the way she tastes. As I kiss her, I slowly push her backward until she’s lying on the blanket. Her arms come around my neck, and I prop myself on my elbows so I don’t crush her while I’m drinking in her taste.
I graze my knuckles over her cheek, feeling how soft her skin is. Marrok growls, loving everything about Sloane. I can’t disagree, she’s amazing. Everything about her is extraordinary.
The scent of her arousal only makes it harder for me to control Marrok, and when she begins to whimper, I shift, settling myself between her thighs. I press my hard length against her, growling when she whimpers again.
I slide a hand down her side, feeling how strong and tight her body is. Then I slide my hand under her shirt, touching her soft skin.
And that’s when everything goes south.
She gasps, jerking against me, then roughly pushing meoff her and standing up quickly.
“I’m sorry, lican’t. I can’t,” she says, quickly.
Fuck!
“No, I’m sorry, Sloane,” I say, staying on the blanket, but sitting up, not looking at her as I try to get control of Marrok and my hormones. “I got carried away. I’m sorry. I wanted this to be a perfect date. I wanted it to be memorable for both of us.” I sigh. “Please tell me that didn’t completely fuck this up because I lost myself for a few moments.”
When she doesn’t answer, I turn and look up at her. She’s standing off to the side, her arms crossed over her stomach in a defensive posture. Fuck
“I’m sorry,” I say softly. “I told you I’m attracted to you. I got carried away. It won’t happen again, I swear.”
“Maybe you should just take me home,” she says.
“Please, Sloane. I don’t want this date ruined because I lost my fucking mind. You smell so good. You taste so fucking good, and we were having such a great time, that l didn’t think. I just let myself feel and I got out of control.
Please don’t end the date before I show you that I can control myself and Marrok, and it’s worth going on another date with me.”
She looks at me and I can tell she’s debating my words. over the fear that I’ve now put in her about myexpectations for this date.
“Please, Sloane,” I whisper. I realize I’ve never wanted anything more than to have Sloane trust me enough to give me another chance.
I wait for her verdict and when she shrugs and walks toward the cliff, I breathe a sigh of relief. I hop up and follow her to the cliff where the sun is starting to set.
– “Thank you.”
She shrugs again. “I don’t know why it matters.”
“Why what matters?” I ask.
“Why it matters if I say yes or not. It’s not like this is going anywhere,” she says.
“Why wouldn’t it? I mean, I know you’re not eighteen yet, but neither of us knows what will happen then.”
She turns and looks at me and I could kick myself. That sad look is back on her face.
“There could never be anything between us, Benedict.”
“Why?” I ask, walking behind her and wrapping my arms around her. She tenses for a moment, then relaxes against me.
“You and I aren’t meant to be together.”
Says who? I ask.
She huffs. “Your mother, for one.”
“My mother has no say in my life. I’m an adult and the next Alpha of my pack. I will do what is in my best interest and the best interest of my pack regardless of what my mother thinks of it.”
“You can’t be serious, Benedict.”
“I’m absolutely serious, Sloane,” I counter.
Rather than continuing this conversation into an argument, I look out at the overlook. “It’s beautiful here, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, it really is,” she whispers.
“You feel really good in my arms,” I say, meaning it. She feels like she was meant to be here, with me.
She chuckles. “I bet you say that to all the girls.”
I lay my chin on her shoulder. “I don’t actually. I hold their hands, I kiss them, and yeah, sometimes it goes further when they are agreeable. But I never hold them like this.
I’ve never felt so comfortable with someone that I could stand here and watch the sunset and feel like everything in the world and in my life is calm. I told you, l’ve never brought anyone up here. You’re different, Sloane. You’re special. I hope that, besides my momentary lapse, I made you feel special tonight.”
“You did,” she whispers. We both get quiet, watching the sun splash the sky in amazing colors. feel her body relax against mine and Marrok begins to purr softly, enjoying the feeling of Sloane in our arms as much as l am.
“When is your birthday, Stoane?” I ask softly, not wanting to break the spell it feels like we’re under.
“A week after graduation.”
“Am I invited to your party?” I ask. She hasn’t said anything, but I want to be there. I need to know if I’m right about the two of us being mates.
She huffs again. “Not everyone has hordes of people wanting to come to their party to see if they might be mates,” she says.
“Is Scarlet coming? Is Will?” I ask. The second one sends a wave of jealousy through me that I struggle to hold in so l don’t scare her off again.
“It’s not really a party. It’s just a get together with cake,” she says.
“Sooo, it’s a birthday party,” I say.
“We’ll have cake on the day I turn eighteen. If that constitutes a party, then yes, I’m having a party.”
“Maybe,” I say, realizing that it’s time to take her to AlphaWaylon’s pack, even though i’m not ready for our night to end.
“Is there any possibility that I could get another kiss before I take you home?” I ask her.
She turns in my arms, sliding her arms around my neck. ” Isn’t that what boyfriends and girlfriends do, Benedict?”
“I told you, you’re not like other women I’ve dated. I just wanted to make sure before I tempted myself with your sweet taste again,” I say, before leaning forward and pressing my lips to hers.
I kiss her until she’s clinging to me, and the scent of her arousal surrounds me. I growl possessively, knowing | need to stop myself this time before things get out of control. updated by jobnib.com “So, does a boyfriend get to see you again tomorrow?” I ask.
“No. I have studying to do so I can defeat the man, who is apparently my boyfriend, for the Valedictorian position.”
I grin. “I can’t persuade you?”
“No,” she says, frowning. But the twitch of her lips lets me know she likes my teasing.
“Okay fine. When’s your last final?”
“Thursday.””Perfect! Let’s go celebrate the end of our time at school on Thursday night.”
She smiles at me and I once again get lost in her trance.
“Okay, Benedict.”
Ismite happily. “Okay.”
“Now, before I do anything stupid to ruin this date again, let’s get you home,” I say.
We pack up our things and I drive her to Alpha Waylon’s pack. It’s closer than Alpha Roman’s which I hate tonight since it means that I’m dropping her off before I’m ready.
“When is your Alpha ceremony going to be?” l ask.
“I don’t know. I’m telling Grandpa Waylon this weekend that I’ve agreed to be his heir.”
“I’d wait until after you turn eighteen. It will be easier for the pack to accept you then,” I say as I pull up to the packhouse. “Do they always look so worried?” | ask, noticing that Alpha Waylon and Luna Judith are waiting for us.
“No, they don’t,” she says, stepping out of the car.
“Grandpa Waylon, what’s going on?” she asks.
He glances at me, as if he’s not sure how to respond since she called him grandpa, not Alpha. But whatever is worrying him, obviously takes precedence.”It’s your friend, Sloane,” he says to her.
“Scarlet? What happened? Where is she?” she asks, instantly alert.
“She met her mate.”
