Old Mrs. Wilson drew in a long breath. “So Maggie took the kids to the competition and couldn’t be there to bring your father home, and you took that as your chance to bring that woman to the hospital? You…”

She wasn’t even done talking when Franklin’s phone went off.

He picked it up and glanced at her. “Let me grab this real quick. You can keep going after?”
