Hilda and Eleanor looked enough alike that when they got nasty, the expressions on their faces were practically identical

As Hilda spoke, she kept cunting her eyes toward Lillian. Like she was afraid Lillian might mis the fact that she was being deliberately targeted.

Lilhan just examined her perfectly manicured nails, her whole demeanor radiating pure

insouciance.

Then she made it worse.

The second Hilda finished, she turned to Julian and said flatly, “I’m not gonna hold back.”

Back when she’d lived at the Graves Pack compound, Lillian hadn’t exactly been known for biting her tongue.

But back then, she’d been focused on her career, building something outside, and hadn’t really cared what they thought. Now, though, Julian kept forcing her into these situations with the pack, and she was making it crystal clear–she wasn’t playing nice anymore.

Eleanor couldn’t handle stress right now.

And Lillian? Lillian didn’t do tolerance.

Hilda’s voice shot up even higher. “Julian, you see that? I’m not just making this up. If she stays here, she’s gonna send Mom into cardiac arrest.”

Julian glanced at Lillian.

She didn’t even look at him. Just kept examining her nails like she didn’t have a care in the world.

And that casualness sent a very clear message–she wasn’t bluffing.

Julian’s head was starting to throb.

Iris, who’d been quiet until now, finally spoke up, aiming her words at Lillian. “Lillian, look, Eleanor’s in really bad shape today. Whatever else is going on, we’re the younger generation. We should be the ones to step back.”

She wanted Julian to see the contrast–to notice who had the better temperament. Who was actually fit to be the Lima of Graves Pack.

Lillian caught the act immediately and let out a short laugh. “Yeah, well, she’s not coming for you, so of course you can afford to be generous.”

“You want me to back off? Then maybe you could stop threatening to throw yourself off bridges and buildings every five seconds so everyone has to beg me to leave you alone.”

Over the past few days, Iris had pulled out all the stops–threatening to jump into rivers, off rooftops, faking breakdown after breakdown. Every single trick in the book.

And every time she spiraled, someone would show up to tell Lillian to stop provoking her.

Iris‘ face went stiff.

Lillian tilted her head. “What? You came for me, and I’m supposed to just let it slide? Maybe you should try being the bigger person. Or did you expect me to lie down and let you walk all

over me?”

“I never-”

“No? Then how come half the stuff Julian gave me ended up with your name on it?”

Iris clamped her mouth shut.

She regretted opening it in the first place.

With Finn backing her now, Lillian had stopped pulling punches entirely. She went for the throat every time.

Hilda saw Lillian pushing and worried Iris might lose it again.

So she jumped in. “Lillian, that’s enough. Everything you’ve done lately has practically driven someone to the edge. Iris has every right to react.”

“Slap.”

The sound cut through the air like a whip.

Hilda’s hand flew to her cheek, her eyes wide with shock as she stared at Julian, completely

Julian’s gaze pinned Hilda where she stood. “She’s my Luna. Your sister–in–law. You will remember that.”

Hilda and Iris both went still.

Lillian raised an eyebrow, shooting Hilda a look that was pure satisfaction.

And Hilda? Hilda stared back with nothing but hatred burning in her eyes.

Julian’s voice dropped. “You disrespect her again, and you won’t see another cent from Graves Pack.”

The whole pack answered to Julian now.

Everyone knew exactly how much weight those words carried.

If he followed through, Hilda would be left with nothing–literally begging on the street.

Her chest burned with fury.

She stared at him, voice cracking. “You’d do that to your own sister? Over some Omega?”

“Your cards stay frozen.”

His tone shifted–darker now. A warning.

Hilda’s mouth snapped shut.

Under that kind of threat, she didn’t dare say another word.

When it came down to survival, people always looked out for themselves first.

The hospital director showed up not long after, having heard Julian was there because of Eleanor.
