Chapter 127 Losing Control

Third–Person POV:

Julian shouted into the phone, “Lillian, you need to get your ass back to Laurel Manor right now.”

At that moment, Julian completely lost it.

He didn’t give a damn anymore about whether he’d been wrong about what happened yesterday.

Or maybe, when he’d made that call back then, he hadn’t thought there was anything wrong with it at all.

But now that Lillian knew, and Finn had seen right through him too, he felt like everything between him and Lillian was c apart, piece by piece.

Right now, he didn’t want to think about any of that. He just needed to see her. Now.

“Give me the phone.”

When Finn didn’t hand it over, Julian roared.

Finn said evenly, “She already hung up.”

Finn held up the dark screen. Julian was so furious he practically saw stars.

“She asked you to lunch?”

Yeah. Lunch.

He’d heard her on the phone, asking what he liked to eat, what he didn’t.

That kind of thoughtfulness–he’d never once gotten that from her in all their years together.

And now she was giving it all to Finn.

So he’d been right all along. This was the real reason Lillian wanted to dissolve the mate bond.

It was because of Finn. She wanted out because of Finn.

Finn had his hands in his pockets.

With his wire–rimmed glasses on, he looked like some mild–mannered gentleman on the surface

But Julian knew exactly how ruthless the man really was.

Finn said, “Yeah. We’re having lunch together”

The air went dead again.

Something dangerous crept into Julian’s eyes.

Finally, a slow smile curved across his lips. “I mean, the only reason you’ve been falling all over yourself taking care of months is because your brother died and it supposedly triggered her depression, right?”

With that, Finn simply walked away.

Before he left, he shot Paul a look–see their guest out.

Julian still wanted to go after him, but Paul stepped directly into his path. “Alpha Julian, your car’s waiting outside.”

Finn took the private elevator straight down to the underground garage.

Furious, Julian tried to shove past him. “Move.”

But Finn drove like hell. By the time Julian hit the main road, there wasn’t even a taillight in sight.

Seething, Julian called Thomas. “Find out where Finn’s car went.”

Hearing that he was supposed to track Finn’s vehicle, Thomas felt a migraine coming on

“Alpha Finn’s been making his car hard to track for days now.”

“Find it. Now.”
