Chapter 128 Business Troubles
Third–Person POV:
“Alpha, you need to get to the office right now. There’s an issue with the Nirvana Project.”
Julian’s jaw tightened. “What kind of issue?”
The Nirvana Project.
It was one of the Graves Pack’s biggest investments this year, and they were already halfway through construction.
How the hell could something go wrong now?
“Someone’s been tampering with it. It’s complicated–I can’t explain over the phone. Just come in, Alpha.”
The voice on the other end was tense. Whatever had happened, it was bad.
The line went dead.
Julian’s temple pulsed with anger. He slammed his fist against the steering wheel again.
Then he fired up the engine and headed straight for the office.
He was going to find out exactly who had the nerve to mess with the Graves Pack.
Meanwhile, Finn had already made it to Starfall Mountain.
Lillian was dressed casually, at home. She’d lost weight–the pale blue chunky–knit sweater hung loose on her frame.
When she saw Finn walk in, Lillian got to her feet.
‘Mr. Livingston,” she said politely.
Finn shrugged off his coat and handed it to the butler waiting nearby. “Thanks,” he murmured
The butler inclined his head. “Of course.”
Finn moved further inside, working at his cufflinks as he went he hated feeling restricted indoors.
But right now, his movements were as easy and natural as if he were in his own space
Every gesture carried that quiet elegance, that effortless grace.
He settled onto the sofa across from Lillian. “You don’t need to call me Mr. Livingston”
Lillian blinked. “Then what should i call you?”
A brief pause. “Finn.”
She nodded. “Okay.”

But honestly, she still preferred the distance that came with “Mr. Livingston“,
“I’m really sorry about everything lately,” she offered.
This mess was between her and Julian, but Julian had dragged Finn right into the middle of it.
Finn waved it off. “Don’t apologize. I promised your brother I’d look out for you.”
Edmund?
When they’d spoken on the phone, Edmund hadn’t gone into detail about his connection with Finn.
But hearing this now–it sounded like they’d been close for a while.
You… you knew my brother well?”
inn nodded, “Yeah. We were close. Studied abroad together back in the day–shared some classes. Got along well.”
ifter graduation, they’d even collaborated on a few projects.
So when it came to the tension between Julian and Edmund, Finn’s sympathies leaned toward Edmund.
Vell. That was only if things between Julian and Lillian truly fell apart.
fearing that Edmund and Finn had that kind of history, Lillian found herself marveling at how strange fate could be.
Just as they were about to keep talking, Finn’s phone buzzed.
de glanced at the screen. Julian.
illian saw the name too.
hinking about how Julian had been hounding Finn over the mate bond dissolution, Lillian felt another wave of guilt
inn rejected the call without a second thought.
illian repeated, “I’m really sorry.”
Anyone dragged into a mess like this would probably be pretty fed up.
inn met her eyes. “It’s not your fault.”
illian shook her head. “I never thought he’d react like this.”
Earlier, Finn had said that if Julian wanted to misunderstand, they should let him.
The priority right now was breaking the bond.
But then Lillian had outright admitted she had feelings for Finn, and Julian still refused to let go
Instead, he kept harassing Finn.
The bastard was infuriating

It made her want to warn every mated woman out there–no matter how much you love someone, make damn sure th type who can handle a clean breakup before you tie yourself to them.
Once you’re bound to someone like Julian, getting free isn’t easy.
Dinner was ready.
Lillian had asked the kitchen to prepare a little of everything. She didn’t actually know what Finn liked.
