Finn had barely pulled away when Lillian’s phone rang–Edmund, letting her know he’d already started making moves against the
Graves Pack.
After she hung up, Lillian turned to George. “Tell the lawyer to get the paperwork ready. We’re filing,”
He wanted to play hardball?
Fine. Let him see what it felt like being pulled in ten different directions at once.
George nodded. “Got it.”
Then he added, “We’ve got everything on that doctor. She’s taken bribes for years–does whatever she’s paid to do.”
That doctor.
The one who’d handled Lillian’s hemorrhage and then gotten bought off by Margaret.
Back in the hospital room, she’d told Lillian not to take tonics so soon after a miscarriage. Then she’d turned around and told Julian that Lillian had never been pregnant at all.
That sudden about–face? Margaret’s money talking.
If she was that easy to buy, she’d do anything for a price.
Lillian said, “Call the cops.”
Someone like that–one report and her career was finished.
“And tip off the reporters.”
Let Julian see the truth for once.
And while they were at it, let the Hayes Pack’s real face get dragged through the mud again. Give tris another dose of reality.
Let her watch just how far she and her mother were about to fall this time.
George nodded. “Understood.”
Graves Estate.
After Julian’s outburst the night before, Eleanor hadn’t slept at all.
She’d woken up later today than she had since the day she’d married into the pack.
Didn’t drag herself out of bed until noon.
Hilda had slept in just as late.

They were having lunch downstairs when Hilda kept glancing at her phone. “That’s weird, Julian’s been calling me nonstop.”
Eleanor asked, “How’s that bitch doing in there?”
She’d poisoned Julian, and he was still causing problems over her.
Eleanor didn’t know what kind of spell Lillian had cast on her son, but he’d lost all reason where that woman was concerned.
Hilda said, “I’ll check in a bit. Don’t worry–I made sure they understood the assignment. She probably spent the whole night getting worked over.”
Her voice dripped with satisfaction at the thought.
She’d wanted to take that bitch down a peg for years.
Even back when Lillian was quiet and played nice, Hilda couldn’t stand her.
Now, after everything Lillian had stirred up recently–especially these last few days that had cost Hilda personally-
Several of her accounts had been frozen by Julian.
But things were looking up now.
Yesterday, Iris had told her Julian wanted that bitch to suffer a little inside too.
Good. Let her really learn what suffering felt like.
Hearing that Lillian might have been tormented all night, Eleanor finally relaxed a fraction. “Should’ve happened ages ago. Look at the mess she’s made lately.”
‘Julian wants her to learn her lesson this time too,” Hilda added. “She won’t get out of this easy.“”
That made Eleanor feel even better.
‘Should’ve done this from the start. None of this would’ve happened.”
Thinking about how the Graves Pack and Hayes Pack had been dragged through the mud these past few days, Eleanor had wanted to teach Lillian a lesson for a while now.
But Julian kept protecting her.
Then her mind drifted back to the Hayes Pack. “I wonder if Margaret’s going to survive this.”
She’d heard things out west were getting ugly.
Hopefully Margaret could handle it. If she ended up facing major penalties, the Graves Pack wasn’t covering those for her.
Hilda waved a hand. “Don’t worry about Margaret. She’s been through worse. She’ll figure something out.”
Eleanor didn’t argue, but she wasn’t convinced.
In her eyes, Margaret didn’t have many options left.
How had she landed all those contracts over the years? Underhanded deals and shady connections.
