Chapter 179 The Severance Proposal
Third–Person POV:
Eleanor’s eyes welled with tears. “Your brother is gone, and we couldn’t even protect the pup he left behind. That was the only healthy one.
“The male pup is still in the ICU–he could take a turn any minute. And now the one healthy pup we had left… is gone, too.” Her voice shook.
Eleanor began to scream, the sound raw and piercing.
Fueled by her words, Julian’s hand tightened, poised to strike Lillian’s face.
ok a sharp step back.
ame moment, Julian’s hand swung down–but her movement caused it to only graze her cheek, the touch light yet akable.
brief contact seemed to snap Julian back to reality.
Lian stared at him, her gaze frosty and detached.
When Julian met those cold, unfeeling eyes, he felt a piece of his heart tear away on the spot.
“How dare you dodge?” Eleanor shrieked, scrambling up from the floor.
“Are we finished here?” Lillian’s voice was icy, as though Eleanor hadn’t even spoken.
Then, making sure Julian understood, she added, “Don’t you think it’s time to ask whether this mating bond is even worth. keeping?”

Everything Julian thought he knew about Lillian now felt fractured, unreliable.
He had loved her deeply, to the very core of his being. But now that love seemed like a cruel Joke
“Not even a month old?” Lillian replied, her tone biting. “Well, at least she got to see the world for those few days. My pups never even had that chance.”
Her words, delivered in that icy tone, painted her perfectly as the heartless, villainous Omega Julian now believed her to be.
Furious, Julian stepped forward and grabbed her by the throat. “Lillian, how dare you?”
His eyes were bloodshot, burning with rage.
Her detachment was palpable, as though their bond meant nothing to her at all.
“Let’s just do the agreement,” she continued flatly. “It’ll save us further trouble. The lawyers can handle the rest.”
“So you’d hurt a pup,” he said, voice low and seething, “just to break this bond and be with Finn?”
Instead of answering, she pulled out her phone, her movements crisp and cold, and texted George, “Come to Laurel Manor now. Bring a full tearn–and weapons.”
The pup was dead.
No one needed to tell her that whatever remained between her and Jullan was over
This was what she wanted. What she’d been waiting for.
As for the pup… well, that was fate. With a mother like Iris, Lillian wasn’t going to lose sleep over it.
Julian’s anger escalated when she ignored his question. “You think you can just walk away clean after a pup’s death?”
He turned away, sank onto the couch, and lit a cigarette, taking a long drag before leveling his gaze at her.
“Did I treat you too well before? Is that why you believe I won’t hold you accountable for a dead pup?”
Before Lillian could respond, Eleanor came charging back downstairs, arms loaded with belongings.
“Get out! Get out right now!” she screamed. “I’m calling the authorities. I’ll make sure you stand trial. You’ll spend the rest of your life behind bars!”
She began hurling onto the floor everything Julian had ever bought for Lillian–clothes, jewelry, gifts–all while shouting threats about police and prison.
Lillian didn’t flinch. Those items had been Julian’s purchases; she’d never considered them hers to begin with.
Her eyes stayed locked on Julian. His stare was cold, merciless, and it was clear that on the matter of “calling the authorities“, he now stood with Eleanor.
After all, just last night when he’d left Laurel Manor, he’d warned her: if she didn’t return the pup, he would have her arrested.
