Eleanor’s voice was tight. “We’ve run the numbers. You’re getting a billion in cash.”

Just saying the figure made her jaw clench.

She let out a low, humorless laugh. “The Graves Pack holds assets worth over a hundred billion, and you’re offering me one?”

“The settlement only covers shared marital assets from your few years as Julian’s mate,” Eleanor shot back, irritation sharpening her tone. “What, did you expect half the pack’s fortune along with it?”

She was barely holding her temper in check.

She knew exactly how deep the pack’s pockets ran.

Their investments spanned industries, their wealth was old and solid–far from modest.

Hearing Lillian lay it out so calmly, Eleanor nearly snapped. “What did you ever contribute to this pack? How can you possibly justify that amount?”

She’d only proposed the billion in the first place to buy silence–to get Lillian to sign the bond dissolution quietly and without more scandal.

Besides, in Eleanor’s view, Lillian wouldn’t live free long enough to spend it. Once she was behind bars, the money would sit frozen. Maybe they could even reclaim it later. That was why Eleanor had been willing to hand it over in the first place.

“Or what?” Eleanor challenged.

“Ask your son. Do you think all I can do is stir up gossip about Iris? Check with him how Graves Group is really doing right now.”

Then the line went dead.

In the car, George glanced at Lillian through the rearview mirror. “Miss, why even entertain their negotiations?”

From his perspective, five billion wasn’t worth the hassle.

At Langley Pack, she lacked for nothing. And dealing with the Graves family lately had shown him just how toxic they were.

The cleaner the break, the better.

Lillian gazed out the window. “I just don’t want her to feel satisfied with any of this.”
