Edward remained silent for a beat, letting the words hang in the air.

Lillian pressed on, her voice trembling with suppressed rage. “And that arrogance? The way they walk around like they’re gods standing above everyone else? I’m going to grind that pride down until it’s nothing but dust, and then I’m going to feed it to the dogs!”

Every syllable dripped with a freezing, endless fury.

On the other end of the line, Edward knew without a shadow of a doubt that something catastrophic had happened.

“What exactly is going on?”

“Just letting them die would be letting them off easy,” Lillian hissed. “How could I grant them a simple death? I need to make them…”

She cut herself off mid–sentence.

But even though she stopped speaking, the malicious intent seeping through the connection was suffocating.

“Wish they were dead.”

Those four words left her lips wrapped in a bone–deep chill.

She knew perfectly well that if Edward found out the full truth about their mother’s murder, he wouldn’t hesitate. He’d tear them apart limb from limb.

No. She couldn’t let that happen.

If they died a quick death, it would be too merciful. Eleanor didn’t deserve a quick end. She deserved to suffer. She deserved to be tormented until she broke.

Every last shred of superiority she had flaunted all these years, standing there as the Luna of the Graves Pack, needed to be shattered. Piece by piece.

Only then could she die in absolute agony.

Lillian wanted to drag the entire Graves Pack down into hell, where they would beg for the sweet release of death.

Edward listened to the raw emotion vibrating in Lillian’s voice. “Lily, you don’t have to get your hands dirty with this. Whatever you want done, tell me. I’ll handle it for you.”

Those were probably the strongest, most grounding words Lillian had heard while she teetered on the edge of insanity.

But right now, she didn’t want a savior.

Not this time. She wasn’t going to listen to her brother.

Her eyelids lowered, shielding the storm in her eyes.

“Edward, I was wrong.

Edward waited, the line crackling softly.

“They all wanted me out of the Graves Pack,” Lillian said, her tone eerily calm. “Me not being right in front of their faces is the best thing that could happen to them. It’s exactly what they

want.

“How can I give them that kind of peace? How can I give them exactly what they want?” She laughed darkly. “I’m going to make sure they find out exactly what kind of demon is really terrifying.”

The one thing the whole Graves Pack had desired from the start was for her to break the mate bond with Julian. Once that bond was severed, they would all breathe easy again. They would think they were safe.

But that relief? Lillian wouldn’t give it to them. She couldn’t.

She wanted them to suffer. She wanted them to feel terror in their marrow, to choke on their own fear, to live in endless, suffocating darkness.

“You…” Edward started, sounding uneasy.

“Their curse should be me. How can I just walk away from that?”

From Catherine all the way down to Hilda.

Every single one of them looked at her like she was a disease, a stain on their legacy.

“Everything they have? I’m going to tear it all apart.”

Each word was ground out from between Lillian’s clenched teeth.

The brokenness and the madness twisted together in her voice. It was a sound that made a person’s heart tremble and ache for her.

Lillian stayed on the phone with Edward for a while longer before finally hanging up.

Listening to the sheer madness radiating from Lillian’s voice, Edward understood one thing clearly.

She wanted to destroy the Graves Pack with her own hands, and nobody was going tok her out of it.

If she didn’t get to shred the Graves Pack until there was nothing left, that festering rage her would never find an outlet.

Lillian stepped out of the room.
