Julian shot back, “I have no shame? I’m not the one stealing another wolf’s mate. What do I have to be ashamed of?”

“You know exactly why she bonded with you, don’t you?”

Julian had been yelling hysterically, but Finn’s sudden, quiet question cut through the noise. His gaze locked onto Julian’s, sharp and penetrating.

The moment their eyes met, Julian–who had been all fired up just seconds before–felt a rush of guilt. The abrupt shift in his own emotions left him stunned.

Did Finn know something?

Seeing Julian go quiet, especially that brief, guilty flicker in his eyes, Finn’s stare grew harder. “She was never interested in you from the beginning, was she?”

Julian said nothing.

When Finn spoke those words, something inside Julian’s chest caved in. The hollow feeling ached fiercely.

Finn pressed on, “You used to claim she really loved you? Ha… Julian, how did you actually win her over? Are you lying to yourself, or have you genuinely forgotten how you chased her?

“And have you forgotten why she fell for you in the first place?”

“Stop talking,” Julian muttered.

Every word from Finn felt like a needle driving straight into Julian’s heart. He didn’t want to hear anymore. They weren’t just needles–they were blades, carving into his already hollow

chest.

Finn watched him with cold, dangerous eyes.

Julian had come to discuss business with Finn, but now, with Finn saying all this, his mind went blank and his heart felt utterly empty.

Why Lillian had fallen for him initially–he knew the reason perfectly. It had nothing to do with who he really was. Not at all.

Finn narrowed his eyes. “You–you stick your nose into things that aren’t your business, but how much do you actually understand about the things that are?”

The things he should have known, he didn’t have a clue about.

Finn’s serious, mocking tone was clearly aimed at Julian and Iris.

He had no idea how much Iris had been doing lately.

He’d blamed all of it on Lillian.

Julian wasn’t sure how he made it out of the Livingston Building. Standing at the entrance, he lit a cigarette.

The wind swept through his hair, carrying the cigarette smoke in the same direction.

His phone buzzed–Thomas was calling. “Alpha, Langley Group…”

“What now? Are they not going to stop until the Graves Group is completely ruined?” Julian cut him off coldly before Thomas could finish.

His frustration had already hit its limit.

Langley just wouldn’t let up, like a rabid dog going after him.

When he thought about what grudge he could possibly have with Langley Group, it seemed there was none. Thomas hadn’t turned up anything either.

Thomas continued, “The Skyvale project–we’re probably going to lose that one too.”

Julian lowered his head and took a long drag from his cigarette.

Langley Group… They really seemed intent on tearing the Graves Group apart.
