Eleanor felt the same.

Lillian sighed, sounding thoroughly annoyed. “Honestly, having to get physical just to come back to my own house. What a drag.”

Her words alone were enough to make Hilda and Eleanor’s blood boil.

With a dismissive wave, Lillian said, “Let them go.”

“Yes.” George nodded, then signaled to the attendant who had been restraining the two

women.

The moment she was free, Eleanor finally felt like she could breathe again.

That damned Lillian–had she lost her mind? She knew perfectly well that the dissolution between her and Julian wasn’t finalized, which meant Eleanor was still her mother–in–law.

How could she treat family like this? It was beyond outrageous.

Once she’d caught her breath, Eleanor shot Lillian a venomous glare. “You… How dare you do this to me!”

Her throat burned with every word.

But the instant she finished, Lillian’s icy stare silenced her.

Hilda cut in, her voice strained. “Mom, just drop it.”

The back of her hand was swollen and throbbing where it had been stepped on.

Eleanor was on the verge of exploding.

Eleanor’s chest tightened with fury. Hilda, worried she’d start another confrontation with Lillian, quickly guided her upstairs.

Soon, the room emptied.

Only Lillian’s people remained. One of the attendants turned to George. “Should we tidy up the living room?”

George shook his head. “No. The Graves Pack has their own staff for that.”

The attendants who had cleared out the upstairs rooms had dumped everything into the living room, leaving it in disarray.
