Iris stared, disbelief etched on her face. “You’re saying she’s moving back here? Seriously?”
What the hell was Lillian playing at?
Hadn’t she been the one who swore she’d never set foot in the Graves Pack territory again? Even if she was having second thoughts about cutting ties with Julian, wouldn’t she go to their own estate–Laurel Manor?
Why come here?
Hilda’s voice was tight with frustration. “It’s true. She cleared out my room and Grandma’s. She’s taking mine, and turned Grandma’s into her personal study.”
Iris blinked. “What?”
That news hit her like a shockwave. This wasn’t the behavior of someone who just regretted a rash decision.
Lillian had truly lost it. She’d even packed away Grandma’s belongings.
Treating the Graves family like this–was she actually trying to fix things with Julian?
If not, why not just sign the dissolution papers and be done with it?
Why go through the dramatic move?
Just thinking about Lillian being back under the same roof made Iris‘ skin crawl. The last person she wanted to see was Lillian–especially not cozying up to Julian.
After everything that had gone down recently, shouldn’t they be finished?
And if they were over, what was this return about?
Hilda added, voice dropping lower, “And she brought Finn’s crew with her. What’s her game?”
This was insane. What was she trying to pull?
When Iris heard that Lillian had brought people from Finn’s pack, her shock deepened. “What kind of people?”

“Staff. Guards. The whole entourage.”
“She brought all of them?”
:.
“Yeah,” Hilda confirmed, growing more agitated by the second.

Lately, the Livingston Pack had been giving her the cold shoulder. Both she and her mother felt completely iced out over there.
She couldn’t help but wonder if Lillian was behind it.
If the Livingston elders were snubbing her because of Lillian, she’d never forgive her.
Iris‘ expression darkened. “What is she even thinking”
None of Lillian’s recent moves made any sense.
Hilda scoffed. “Who knows?”
On one hand, she acted like she wanted to salvage the mating bond. O up flanked by Finn’s people. Her head was clearly messed up.

Out on the balcony, Eleanor was on the phone, her temper boiling over. “I don’t care how tied
up you are,” she snapped. “You need to get back here now and get the
territory.”
She was close to breaking point. What was this madness?

Julian’s reply was flat and detached over the line. “I can’t come back right now.”
Then the call cut off.
His company was in crisis–major board members and elder shareholders were up in arms.
He was swamped dealing with fallout from Langley Group deal. He had no bandwidth for the drama between Lillian and Eleanor.
Hearing the dial tone, Eleanor felt her head might explode.
Whatever Julian was dealing with could wait. She redialed.
He didn’t pick up the first time. She called again.
When he finally answered, his voice was icy with suppressed anger. “What do you all want from me now?”

The company was crumbling. Home was a warzone. No one gave him a moment’s peace.
Why did the women in his life have to be so difficult? It was enough to make him want to
scream.
Eleanor didn’t hold back. “Listen to this–she threw out all your grandmother’s belongings. What do you think that means?
“Are you really willing to keep an Omega like this in the Graves Pack?”
When Julian heard that Lillian had disposed of his grandmother’s things, he was stunned.
And honestly, a pounding headache set in.
Eleanor pressed on, voice fraying. “You need to come home, right now, with a five–billion severance agreement. Give it to her. Give her whatever she wants.
“I can’t take this anymore.”
This was only the beginning, and she was already unraveling.
If Julian kept dragging this out, Eleanor felt she wouldn’t survive it.
This wasn’t a daughter–in–law. This was a curse.
Julian’s breathing was heavy on the other end. “I told you, I can’t come back now.”
