When Julian heard her make plans to have dinner together tomorrow,a surge of irritation broke through his restraint.

Was that Finn?he demanded, his voice frosty.

Lillian set her phone down and met his gaze with an icy stare. She didn’t answerbut her expression said everything. That’s none of your business, Julian.”

He couldn’t stand that look. It made his blood boil, frustration tightening like a vise around his temples.

In two quick strides, he closed the distance between them and hauled her up from the couch.

You agreed not to sever the mate bond,he growled through clenched teeth, and yet here you are, still tangled up with Finn. What do you take me for?

He knew he was too invested in whatever was going on between Finn and Lillian.

And now she was living under the Graves Pack roof, still carrying on with Finn right under his nose. It infuriated him, left him feeling powerlessand that only fueled his anger.

Then Finn’s earlier warnings echoed in his mind

Julian’s grip tightenedone hand around her wrist, the other locking around her waist.

Promise me,he said, voice low and strained. Stop seeing Finn.”

He had a sinking feeling Finn had only uncoveredthatbecause he’d been spending so much time with Lillian. If they kept this up, Julian dreaded what might come next.

Lillian didn’t struggle. Instead, she tilted her head and asked coolly, Then can you stop dealing with the Graves Pack? Can you cut ties with Iris?

Julian went still, the air catching in his lungs.

A sharp, humorless smile touched Lillian’s lips. See? You can’t do it either.

Her words were blades, carefully aimed. You’re the one who wants it both ways. What gives you the right to tell me who to see?

He’s not a good guy,Julian bit out.

If he’s not,Lillian countered, why have you run with him all these years?

Julian had no reply.

Exactly, she said softly. That means you’re not one either.”

Her eyes held his, unflinching. I fell for a man like you once. Why wouldn’t I fall for someone like him?

Lillian.”

Her name tore from him, raw and ragged. She was pushing every button he had, dancing on the last of his control.

But the moment his shout faded, Lillian drove her knee hard into his thigh.

Julian grunted, pain shooting through his leg. His hands slipped from her wrist and waist.

Damn it, woman.”

She hadn’t held back. A cold sweat broke across his foreheadproof of just how hard she’d struck.

Calmly, Lillian folded her arms and sank back into the couch.

ian swallowed a curse, lowered himself beside her, and waited for the throbbing to

side.

When he could speak again, his voice was tight. You’ve made your scene. Burned what you wanted to burn. Aren’t you satisfied yet?

atisfied?Lillian echoed, almost laughing.

As if it were that simple.

What churned inside her wasn’t something a single outburst could erase. It was hatred- deep, marrowdeep hatred, born from the unforgivable.

No, she wasn’t satisfied.

She wanted them all to pay.

Julian tried again, tone edged with exhaustion. If you’re done here, come back to Laurel Manor with me.”

Laurel Manor? Her voice was eerily calm. Is it even still standing?

Julian’s temples pulsed as he stared at Lillian. Into the phone, he snarled, This happened thirty minutes ago and you’re just telling me now?

A beat of silence on the line.

Fine. Understood. He ended the call, eyes never leaving her.

While fury radiated off him, Lillian remained perfectly still, utterly composedas if nothing at all had happened.

But Julian knew better. After today, her calm was more terrifying than any outburst.

The cooler she seemed, the more the Graves Pack stood to lose.

Have you lost your mind?he breathed.

Laurel Manor held everythingevery memory, every feeling he’d ever buried for her. Every tree, every stone, he’d placed there with her in mind.

And now she’d burned it all down.

What’s next?he pressed, voice rising. Will you torch the whole estate while the pack’s asleep?

It was the same thing Eleanor had thrown at her earlier. Now the words were his, too.

Lillian didn’t flinch. She just watched him, silent and steady.
