Chapter 37 Rage and a Gun

Chapter 37 Rage and a Gun

ThirdPerson POV:

Julian arrived just in time.

He saw Lillian standing under the black umbrella held by that Draenei man. Finn was nowhere in sight.

But in that moment, the anger he’d been swallowing all day finally boiled over.

Just as Lillian turned, she saw him. Julian was leaning against their car, hands tucked into his pockets, watching her.

His eyes darkened. Heavy. Locked onto her with an intensity that felt like an accusation.

It was the look of a man who’d just caught his woman with someone else.

Lillian gave a small nod and pulled her gaze away from him.

She glanced at George beside her. George wasn’t looking at Julian either. Let’s go.

Lillian nodded.

They walked toward the car. Julian stayed where he was, back pressed against the passenger door.

Rain fell over him, sliding from his hair down his clothes.

Lillian walked right up to him. George opened the car door for her. She barely glanced at Julian before ducking her head to get in.

But Julian’s hand closed around her arm.

The air went cold.

The second Julian grabbed her, George’s hand clamped down on Julian’s wrist.

Both men radiated dominance, raw and aggressive. Julian shot George a look that could kill.

George met it headon, sharp and unyielding.

The tension between them was suffocating.

George’s voice was ice. Alpha Julian. You really want to make this uglier than it already is?

His tone carried a clear warning.

Hearing the other man use his name, Julian’s eyes went even darker.

You think you can take my Luna right in front of me? Do I look weak to you?

George let out a short, humorless scoff. Whether you’re weak or not isn’t my problem.

Then you’re asking to die.

Julian’s temper had been stretched thin all day. Now it snapped.

Blind with rage, he drew back his free fist and swung at George’s face.

George’s eyes went cold.

The next second, the muzzle of a gun pressed up under Julian’s chin.

Everything stopped.

Julian’s furious gaze dropped to the weapon jammed against his jaw.

The danger rolling off him in that moment was almost unbearable.

Thomas, who’d been waiting nearby, saw what was happening. He drew his own weapon and closed in, pressing the barrel to George’s temple.

Drop it,Thomas growled.

Julian shot George a contemptuous look, then turned his attention to Lillian. Lillian. You’ve really outdone yourself, haven’t you?

There was something in his voice she’d never heard before. Something lethal.

George had taken Lillian awaythat alone had Julian suspicious. Now this man had pulled a gun on him. In Gilneas City. On his territory.

Lillian kept her voice as steady as she could. Are you going to let go of me now?

You think I’m afraid to die?

Julian tightened his grip and yanked her hard against his chest.

George’s eyes flashed. At the same time, Thomas tensed, his finger on the trigger.

Both sides were about to fire-

Stop!Lillian’s voice cut through.

George looked at her.

Let me talk to him,she said.

She could see it clearly now. If she didn’t settle things with Julian tonight, there would be blood on the ground. Right here.

George gave a stiff nod.

He lowered his gun. Thomas stayed alert, watching. This Draenel was dangerous.

Both men stepped back.

Julian dragged Lillian toward the car. When she resisted, he forced her inside.

George moved to follow, but Lillian shook her head through the window. Don’t.

The car tore through the rain.

I sat in the passenger seat, my hand wrapped around the grab handle so tight my knuckles went white. Julian didn’t stop until we reached the bridge over the river.

Outside, the rain hammered down.

Inside, the fury was suffocating. Julian grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me into him.

His mouth came down hard. Possessive. The more I fought, the rougher he got.

I didn’t know how long it lasted. Only that when he finally let me go, I was gasping for air.

The second I could breathe, I dragged in ragged lungfuls.

Then I raised my hand and slapped him. Hard.

The look I gave him could’ve drawn blood on its own.

A thin line of red appeared at the corner of his mouth.
