The scorch marks on the decorative stones outside the villa were gone–the housekeeper had already taken care of them.
Julian forced her inside.
Lillian sat on the sofa in silence, her expression cold and distant.
Julian twisted the cap off a bottle of whiskey and took a few heavy swallows. “What else do you have?”
He was asking what evidence she still had against Iris.
After everything that had gone down yesterday and today, the question of what Lillian was holding onto had become a serious headache for him.
He also never expected Lillian to go this far when she finally decided to make a scene.
And the way she’d manipulated public opinion…
It made him realize more than ever that she wasn’t the obedient, gentle Omega she’d always pretended to be.
Lillian looked at him and let out a short laugh. “A lot. How much are you planning to pay for it?”
The second she mentioned money, something cold flickered in his eyes.
He poured himself another glass and knocked it back in one gulp.
“Why do you have to come after her like this? If it’s because I’ve been spending too much time with her these past six months, you’re overthinking it.
‘Nothing’s going on between us. If it bothers you that much, fine–I just won’t see her anymore.”
His tone was dismissive, like he was brushing off something trivial.
Lillian laughed at that. “It bothers me?”
Had her problem with him being glued to Iris only started a couple of days ago?
And now he was offering to cut ties with her–just like that? All to get Lillian to back off?
Julian’s brow furrowed as he watched her.
She let out another cold laugh. “These past six months? Jullan, don’t flatter yourself.
“Whether something happened between you and her during those six months has nothing to do with me.”
His expression darkened even further.
Hearing her say it had nothing to do with her meant one thing–she didn’t give a damn about him anymore
This woman… Her words cut deep. No mercy at all.

Julian set the bottle down. “Then what’s got you so worked up?”
Worked up enough to turn Gilneas City upside down.
No one in the Graves Pack had ever expected Lillian was capable of something like this.
Lillian said, “Two years ago, she made me lose my pup. Isn’t that reason enough?”
Lillian said, “Or do you all expect me to play the saint and just forgive someone for killing my pup?”

At the mention of the pup, something flickered in Julian’s eyes. “That was a long time ago. Besides, she didn’t do it on purpose.”
Lillian said, “And what about her stealing my design for Moonvale Eco–Community?”
He grabbed the bottle again, irritation rolling off him in waves, and poured another drink.
Lillian said, “Two years ago, whether she meant it or not, my pup was lost because of her.
“That day at the estate, she was the one who pushed me too, Julian. All of it–every single thing.”
Julian asked, “Are you seriously saying she pushed you at the estate and caused the miscarriage?”
Lillian’s POV:
There was a hint of mockery in his dismissive tone now.
I’d been about to bring up the design–couldn’t Iris at least tell whether she’d drawn it herself, stroke by stroke?
But hearing the disbelief in Julian’s voice, I suddenly felt like there was no point in saying anything else.
Then Julian spoke again, “About the design… that wasn’t her fault.”
I was even more done at that point.
Julian said, “Back then, she had some proposal that needed that design. I told her to go ahead and use it.”
“You told her to use it? What gave you the right? Was it your design?”
The anger flared up in me all over again.
Julian spoke, “It was just a design. Did it really mean that much to you? Besides, you didn’t even care back then.”
I was so furious I couldn’t bring myself to say another word.
The room went silent again.
Looking at him now, I realized I’d never really known Julian at all.
“Just a design? I almost died in that landslide out there, Julian. And you’re calling it just a design?
“You think I didn’t care back then? What makes you so sure I didn’t?”
“Just a design“. “Didn’t care“. So because I was mated to him, he got to decide what mattered to me and what didn’t?
