Lillian said, “Tomorrow, the news about the pup I lost in that car accident two years ago is going to spread through every corner of Gilneas City.”
The second those words left her mouth, the tension in the living room cranked up another notch.
Julian said, “Have you lost your mind? I already told you she didn’t-”
“Whether she did it on purpose or not, I’d love to hear what everyone else thinks,” Lillian cut him off mid–sentence. “What’s your take on that?”
Julian’s glass hit the coffee table with a sharp crack.
The look he gave her had gone noticeably colder than before.
He ground his teeth. “Lillian, before all this, you-”
“I wasn’t like this before,” Lillian interrupted again. “But what can I say? This is who I really am. If you’ve got the guts, sever the bond.
“As long as we’re mated for even one more day, nobody’s getting any peace.
“And your mother’s so tight with Margaret, right? I doubt that friendship’s gonna survive once I’m done with them.”
Julian said, “This isn’t gonna get you anything.”
Lillian let out a sharp laugh. “What do I need to get? I’ve already thrown away any pretense of decency just to tear them apart with you. What exactly is there left for me to gain?”
She didn’t want anything anymore–she just wanted to rip every last one of them to shreds.
Confronted with Lillian’s icy, ruthless resolve, Julian finally hit his limit. He took a call and walked out.
Before leaving, he ordered every wolf in Inkwood Gardens not to let Lillian leave.
Lillian’s POV:
Julian had barely stepped out the door when my phone rang. It was George.
‘Miss.”
‘What is it?”
George said, “Just got word. Margaret sent some people to trash your place on Galaxy Road.”
Hearing that, I glanced down at my watch..
Almost ten o’clock.
I had to hand it to Margaret–she didn’t waste any time. She’d barely gotten off the plane and already had my house on Galaxy

Road wrecked.
Looked like she wasn’t just retaliating for Ins. She was sending me a message. A warning.
I took a slow sip of water from the glass on the table.
Then I said to George, “Margaret’s got that big estate in Gilneas City, plus two smaller properties on the side. Take out the smaller ones. The estate, though…”
I paused for a beat.
Then my voice dropped, colder and sharper. “Burn it.”
George said, “Understood. I’ll handle it now”
“Also, make sure Chloe and the orphanage are protected.”
With Margaret back in town, things between me and Ins were about to get bloody
George said, “Don’t worry, Miss. It’s all taken care of ”
Third–Person POV:
Margaret had arrived at the hospital and was already giving Eleanor attitude, picking apart everything she did.
She kept circling back to the same point–Eleanor hadn’t done enough to protect Iris. Hadn’t kept Lillian in line.
Eleanor was furious.
The moment Margaret stepped into Iris‘ room, Eleanor grabbed the first excuse she could find and left with Hilda to go check on the pups.
In the elevator, Hilda couldn’t hold back her frustration. “What’s Margaret’s problem? Ever since Lillian started all this, you’ve been the one looking after Iris. How does she get off talking to you like that?”
“Drop it. She’s not wrong–Lillian wasn’t kept in line.”
Giving birth was supposed to be the most vulnerable time for a she–wolf.
And Lillian was out here stirring up chaos.
Now, because of all this mess, it wasn’t just Iris who’d taken a hit–Margaret’s reputation had suffered too. Hell, the whole Graves Pack’s name had been dragged through the mud.
Hilda said, “That’s still on Lillian. None of this is your fault.”
Eleanor was angry too, obviously. But she wasn’t about to go toe–to–toe with Margaret. Besides, she genuinely cared about Iris.
Back in the hospital room, only Margaret, Iris, and two female guards were left.
Margaret, with her sharp bob and severe expression, shot the guards an irritated look. “What? I can’t visit my own daughter without the two of you breathing down my neck?”

The guards exchanged a glance.
Finally, one of them stepped out to call Julian and get his okay. After he gave the green light, they both left the room.

Once the door clicked shut, Margaret sank into the chair next to Iris‘ bed. “Pathetic. Letting some orphanage Omega push you around like this?”
Margaret could barely contain her fury.
She still had a major business deal waiting for her back in the Western Continent. All the terms were set, but the contract wasn’t signed yet.
Seeing how far out of hand things had gotten in Gilneas City, she’d flown back personally to deal with it.
Once everything was settled, she’d have to turn around and fly straight back tomorrow afternoon.
Iris said, “That Lillian… It’s like she’s a completely different person now. Nobody can reason with her anymore.
“And i don’t even know where she got the resources, but Julian can’t seem to shut down the stuff those gossip blogs are putting out.“;
Just talking about it made Iris feel wronged all over again.
Hearing that the rumors were still spreading, Margaret’s anger flared even hotter.
She’d already assigned some of her own people in Gilneas City to handle damage control from overseas.
The feedback she got was the same as what Iris had told her. Margaret asked, “Is someone backing her?”
Iris shook her head. “I don’t know.”
She really didn’t.
But hearing her mother say it made Iris start wondering too–who was helping Lillian?
There was no way Lillian could pull all this off on her own.
“Mom, you have to make her pay.”
Frustrated and seething, Iris just wanted Lillian to hurt now.
As for whether someone was pulling strings behind the scenes, she didn’t care anymore.
She just wanted Lillian to pay–and she wanted it now.
