Chapter 57 The Argument Over Iris
Third–Person POV:
“Where the hell else would I go?” Julian’s temper flared at the sarcasm dripping from Lillian’s voice.

Lillian shot back, “You’ve spent plenty of nights away from Inkwood Gardens over the past six months–you know exactly where you’ve been!”
Just hearing that made his head throb.
Clearly, she wasn’t about to let go of the resentment she’d been bottling up for the last half–year without a fight.
He casually knotted the robe at his waist and turned to face her. “I’m not leaving again. Not unless it’s for Ethan’s pup.”
He emphasized Ethan’s pup deliberately, as if to make it crystal clear that every time he’d walked out before, it had been for Ethan’s pup.
Not for Iris.
The mockery in Lillian’s smile sharpened. “Ethan’s pup, huh? Don’t worry. You’ll have plenty of reasons to run off for a pup in the future.”
She practically spat the last two words.
Julian didn’t know what to do with her attitude.
He understood–she’d been swallowing this bitterness for six months, and there was no telling when she’d finally purge it.
He stepped forward and tousled her hair. “Be good.”
It was a lazy, almost dismissive attempt to placate her. Then he turned and walked out.
No sooner had he left than Chloe called. “You asleep?”
“No.”
‘Whoa… so Margaret’s penthouse over at Harborview Towers got completely trashed–nothing left but the shell. You hear about that?”
Lillian said, “No.”
Chloe asked, “Wait, seriously? That wasn’t you?”
“I wouldn’t do something like that.”
Really?
Hearing Lillian say that now, Chloe wasn’t entirely convinced.
“Then she must’ve pissed off the wrong person.”
Her doubt only lasted a second. Then she figured it was probably someone else settling a score with Margaret.

Chapter 57 The Argument Over Iris
Lillian said, “She wrecked my place.”
“Wait, what–for real…?”
Chloe was floored.
So the apartment on Galaxy Road got smashed… but Harborview Towers really wasn’t her doing?
Chloe cleared her throat awkwardly. “Well… get some sleep then.”
If Lillian said it wasn’t her, then it wasn’t..
Whoever did it, though? Satisfying as hell.

Eleanor watched Julian descend alone, his robe hanging loose.
Through the gap in the fabric, faint scratch marks were visible.
The sight made Eleanor’s blood boil instantly. “Where is she?”
Julian crossed to the opposite couch, settled into it, grabbed the cigarette pack from the coffee table, lit one, and took a drag.
“I told you before–if you don’t like her, don’t interact with her. Just pretend she’s not your daughter–in–law.”
And if she still couldn’t swallow her anger… then pretend she didn’t have a son either.
As far as Julian was concerned now, he’d accept whatever it took.
Eleanor’s vision practically blurred with rage. “I don’t want to pretend–I want her gone as my daughter–in–law. Period.
“Do you even know what kind of mess she’s stirred up now? She burnt Iris‘ mother’s house. And those two villas out east hills? She had people smash them to pieces.
“Tell me what exactly is she trying to do? How did the Graves Pack end up with someone like her?”
“The Graves Pack and Margaret’s Hayes Pack have had good relations for years! And now? We bring in this… this nobody, and she’s going to drag the Graves Pack down with her?”
Eleanor had been fuming the entire drive over, barely containing her fury.
Now, face–to–face with Julian, her anger had reached a breaking point–completely uncontrollable.
Julian exhaled a stream of smoke. “Is the Graves Pack made of paper? That some Omega could destroy it?”
Eleanor snapped, “The Graves Pack isn’t made of paper, but it can’t survive her tearing through everything like this!”
Thinking about the damage to the pack’s reputation over the last few days made Eleanor want to end Lillian herself.
Before Julian could respond, she continued, “A stray girl who doesn’t even know who her parents are–of course she’s got no breeding.
“But looking at her true nature… even if she had parents to raise her, they wouldn’t have been much better.”
