Chapter 59 Forced to Drink
Chapter 59 Forced to Drink
Third–Person POV:
Lillian took a sip of the soup and frowned. “Why does this taste so weird?”
Hearing this, Helen instinctively stepped forward. “It doesn’t taste right? Actually, Alpha-”
Before she could finish, Julian shot her a cold look.

Helen quickly swallowed the rest of her sentence and turned to Lillian instead. “I noticed you seemed a bit off this morning, so I added some herbal tonics to it. That might’ve affected the flavor.”
Lillian didn’t catch the unease in Helen’s voice.
She just thought the soup tasted terrible, and after a couple of sips, she pushed it away.
Lillian set the bowl down.
Seeing her stop drinking, Julian frowned. “That medicinal broth is good for you. Finish it.”
Last night, she’d been shivering well past midnight, unable to get warm.
It suddenly hit Julian–when had Lillian, who used to feel like a little furnace curled up next to him, gotten this fragile?
She hadn’t been like this before.
Lillian didn’t want it. “No. It’s disgusting.”
When prepared right, medicinal soups shouldn’t taste strange at all. She didn’t know what was up with Helen today.
Seeing Lillian refuse, Julian felt a flicker of helplessness.
He got up, moved to the chair beside her, picked up the bowl of broth, scooped up a spoonful, and held it right to her lips.
Lillian was speechless. “What are you doing?”
Faced with Julian like this, her expression went cold instantly.
Julian said, “Drink the soup.”
“I said no,” Lillian shot back.
With Julian acting like this, Lillian’s attitude hardened right along with his.
And Julian’s attitude was just as unyielding, especially with the look he was giving her now.
Like if she didn’t finish this soup, it’d genuinely set him off.
He kept the spoon at Lillian’s lips. Lillian glanced down, and when her eyes landed on the bite mark on Julian’s neck…
A bite mark?

Did Iris put that there?
All the warmth drained from Lillian’s gaze.
Julian said, “Open your mouth.”
His tone was firm, his patience clearly fraying.

Lillian pressed her lips together tight, raised her hand, and knocked both the spoon and the bowl right out of his grip, sending them crashing to the floor.
Julian’s face went dark instantly.
Helen, standing nearby, startled at the sound of the bowl shattering against the ground.
That was something Julian had gotten up early to make himself.
Shooting a nervous glance at Julian’s stormy expression, Helen hurried to grab something to clean up the mess.
Lillian had completely lost her appetite and stood up to leave.
But Julian caught her wrist.
Lillian tried to yank free, but the man’s grip was too strong. “Just drink one bowl.”
Lillian stayed silent.
Helen had just come back with a broom when she heard Julian growl, “Get the Luna another bowl.”
Quickly, Helen ladled out another serving and set it in front of Lillian.
Julian immediately picked it up, scooped up a spoonful, and brought it to Lillian’s lips again.
“Your body’s in rough shape, and you know it. Open your mouth.”
Lillian’s POV:
That coaxing tone, those deep eyes…
I knew if I didn’t drink this soup today, he wouldn’t let it go.
Frustrated, I just grabbed the bowl and downed every last drop.
Julian smiled, “That’s a good girl.”
“Thud.” I slammed the empty bowl down hard on the table.
The bite mark on Julian’s neck was impossible to ignore. I refused to look at it again.
For the rest of breakfast, neither Julian nor I said a word. The tension hung thick until the meal finally ended.
After breakfast…
Seeing me about to head out, Julian spoke up, “I told you, you can’t leave right now.”

I replied, “And what if I go anyway?”
Both of us stood our ground, stubborn and unyielding.
Julian shot me a cold look, something ruthless flickering in his eyes.
Facing that gaze, my chest tightened.
I’d always known he was a hard, dangerous man…
But in all our years of marriage, he’d never turned that edge on me.
Still, if it came down to it, would he? I honestly didn’t know.
Though lately, I wasn’t scared anymore…
If he wanted ruthless, fine–we could be ruthless together.
Julian’s eyes narrowed. “You that desperate to see him?”
Him–he meant Finn.
I retorted, “I don’t know if there’s anyone outside I want to see. But you definitely have someone on your mind.”
Julian said, “I told you. My involvement with her these past six months was only because of the pup.”
