Chapter 61 Margaret’s Deadly Game
Chapter 61 Margaret’s Deadly Game
Lillian’s POV:
“What is it?” Julian’s icy voice came through the phone.
Helen pleaded, “Alpha, you need to come back right now. Luna… Luna’s bleeding badly.”
As she spoke, Helen glanced back toward where I’d been standing moments ago.
There was blood on the floor…
A pause on the other end of the line.
Then Julian’s voice returned, even colder than before. “Did she put you up to this?”
Hearing his words, I was so frustrated I almost laughed.
At his question, Helen seemed completely thrown off. “No, Alpha, you’ve misunderstood Luna. She-”
Helen didn’t get to finish. Julian hung up on her.
The dial tone made Helen panic.
Just as she was about to call him back, I said, “Stop. Don’t bother. He’s busy rushing to see Iris right now.”
“Luna, the Alpha really does-” Helen started, trying to defend him.
“I said quiet! Just let me rest!” I cut her off irritably, waving my hand.

I called George. The entrance was packed with bodyguards Julian had posted. I was worried they wouldn’t let me leave.
George said, “Miss, don’t worry. I’m on my way.”
After hanging up with George, I lay back on the couch and didn’t move.
Helen wanted to help me change clothes, but seeing that the bleeding had slowed a bit since I’d lain down, she didn’t dare move me. She just used a warm towel to wipe the blood from my legs.
Not long after I hung up with George, an ambulance arrived.
I thought it was the one I’d called.
But unexpectedly, Margaret walked in instead.
The guards at the door were all Julian’s men, so naturally they wouldn’t let her through.
But Margaret had come prepared. With a single command, her people started fighting with Julian’s guards.
The entrance to Inkwood Gardens descended into chaos.

Chapter 61 Margaret’s Deadly Game
Margaret, with her sharp, cropped hair, strode in like she owned the place.
Two bodyguards flanked her.
Seeing Margaret, Helen grew uneasy. “Mrs. Hayes.”
Given the recent clashes between Lillian and Iris, she was terrified Margaret intended to harm Lillian.
Stealthily, Helen tried calling Julian again.
Once more, Julian didn’t answer…
Lillian lay on the sofa. Margaret took in her disheveled state and let out two mocking clicks of her tongue.
Then she sneered, “How pathetic. Iris was right–you did lose your pup.
“That girl’s not usually the sharpest tool in the shed, but she’s dann good at spotting when a female’s carrying.”
Lillian’s face darkened.
i
“So you’re here to confess that Iris deliberately made me lose both my pups?”
Margaret walked over and settled into the armchair beside Lillian.
She glanced at the blood on the floor, her eyes filled with disgust, as if she were looking at something filthy.
Her haughty demeanor made it clear she genuinely believed she was royalty.
She turned back to Lillian, her crimson lips parting. “So what if I admit it? What exactly are you going to do about it?”
That “what are you going to do about it” was a full confession.
Lillian stared at her with a murderous coldness, saying nothing.

Margaret wasn’t the least bit intimidated by Lillian’s look, which seemed ready to tear her apart. “Tell me if the ambulance can’t get you to the hospital, will you bleed out here today?
“Or maybe guess whether Julian will even remember to come save you.”
Every word was spoken lightly, yet dripping with contemptuous scorn and mockery.
Margaret was taunting Lillian–her own Alpha had ultimately abandoned her for another female.
And that other female was the mate of Julian’s brother.
Helen, watching the scene unfold, was frantic with anxiety. “Mrs. Hayes, please, I’m begging you, don’t do this. Our Luna needs to get to the hospital immediately.”
“You shut your mouth!” Margaret snapped at Helen.
She shot a frigid glare at Helen before looking away.
Then, turning her disdainful gaze back to Lillian, she said, “Hospital? Even if she dies here today, it’d be no different from a stray dog bleeding out in the street.
