Chapter 64 Striking Back

Third–Person POV:

Chloe asked, “Did you two clash again last night?”

Hearing about what had happened the previous night, Chloe was shocked.

“More than a clash. He’s convinced now that something’s going on between Finn and me.”

Chloe fell silent. What an asshole.

She really didn’t know what to say about him anymore.

‘He hasn’t even sorted out his own mess with Iris, and now he’s dragging you and Finn into this?”

This guy had truly taken shamelessness to a whole new level.

Lillian said, “Right now, all I want is to dissolve the mating bond.”

Her situation with Julian was like this now–they couldn’t make it work, yet they couldn’t cleanly separate either.

Chloe insisted, “You have to end it. Absolutely.”

Just thinking about how anxiously he’d been holding Iris‘ pup earlier, Chloe felt this kind of life was impossible to endure.

‘With no peace day in and day out, how can anyone live like this? Last night, Eleanor and Hilda even showed up to harass you. Where do they find the energy?”

“And even then, Julian didn’t come back?”

Lillian said, “No.”

Outside the hospital room, Finn asked the doctor about Lillian’s condition, and the doctor told him everything.

After the doctor left, Finn’s expression remained grim.

Victor leaned against the wall beside him, constantly flicking a lighter open and shut in his hand.

He’d also heard what the doctor said.

And he’d had Victor keep trying to contact Julian.

But no one had expected that, at such a critical moment with Margaret in Gilneas City, Julian’s phone would be off.

Finn didn’t answer Victor’s question, just asked in a low voice, “Is his phone still off?”

Victor didn’t dare tell Finn he’d run into Julian while handling the admission paperwork.

They hadn’t even exchanged two words before Julian had been called away because of Iris‘ pup.

Victor said, “No. I called Thomas. Thomas couldn’t reach Julian either.”

Really, what kind of situation was this?

His own mate had miscarried and he wasn’t there. Now his mate was in critical condition with a major hemorrhage, and he was absent again.

At this moment, Victor was almost certain.

Lillian and Julian were definitely going to break their mating bond.

After something this big, given Lillian’s temperament, she would never forgive him.

Their relationship had already been strained for half a year because of Iris.
