When Lillian was brought up, a flicker of pain passed through Iris‘ eyes.

“It doesn’t seem like she and Julian are going to part ways anytime soon.”

Margaret cut in sharply, “Not anytime soon–but they will part ways eventually!”

The words “not anytime soon” hit Margaret like a needle straight to the nerve.

She turned to face Iris. “From now on, you stay close to Julian. Let’s see how long she can handle it–and how long Julian can put up with her tantrums.”

She told Marcus, “Go negotiate with Julian. Find out what it’ll take for him to release Simon.”

Without hesitation, she picked up the food Finn had sent over.

Over the years at the Graves Pack, Eleanor had always looked at Lillian with nothing but disdain, as if Lillian had only married Julian for the family’s money.

When Julian walked in, he saw Chloe feeding Lillian. Lillian’s right hand had an IV in it, so she couldn’t move.

And the container in Chloe’s hand… wasn’t from Inkwood Gardens.

Looking closer, he recognized it–he’d seen one like it in Finn’s office before.

Instantly, the air around Julian turned icy.

Just as Chloe was about to slide another shrimp into Lillian’s mouth, the spoon was suddenly yanked from her hand.

Chloe turned and found Julian standing right behind her, his presence overwhelming.

Her expression darkened immediately. “What are you doing here?”

Seeing Julian, Lillian’s face also tensed up.

Julian grabbed the food container from Chloe and tossed it aside with a heavy thud.

Chloe was stunned. “Julian, have you completely lost your mind?” she snapped.

How dare he get angry and cause a scene here? What right did he have? That shameless man!

Without a word, Julian simply lifted Chloe out of the chair, then took her place and sat down.

He picked up the insulated bag Helen had brought, opened it, and pulled out the food container inside.

Chloe said coldly, “Lillian can’t afford to eat Graves Pack food.”

Julian glanced back at her, his gaze freezing and murderous.

Chloe swallowed hard under that look.

She knew Julian was furious…

outside for a moment.”

“Go.” Lillian cut her off gently.

Seeing that Lillian wanted to speak with Julian alone, Chloe nodded and left the room.

Julian asked her, “Do you want to eat first, or have some soup?”

“Graves Pack food isn’t right for me. After all, a bowl of soup landed me in the hospital this morning.”
