**Finished**
Daphne’s excitement bubbled over, her voice practically vibrating with energy as she shared every morsel of information she had with Zera. The atmosphere was electric, charged with anticipation and urgency.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Zera made her decision, her mind racing with possibilities. “I’ll fly home,” she declared, her tone firm and resolute.
On the other end of the line, her enthusiasm was palpable. “Daphne, don’t fret! No matter what obstacles stand in my way, I’ll be back before November 8th to see Tyrone.” The determination in her voice was a beacon of hope for both of them.
Once the call ended, Daphne wasted no time. She whipped off her apron and kicked off her boots, her heart pounding with excitement.
“Julian!” she exclaimed, grabbing his arm with a burst of energy. “Let’s get home quickly! We need to send Zera money for her plane ticket. Just think about it—once she’s back, everything will change! No more waking up at the crack of dawn to sell seafood every single day!” The thought of a new beginning filled her with joy.
Across the street, nestled in a car near the south gate of the seafood market, Aella sat with Kayla, their eyes fixed on the whirlwind that was Julian and Daphne. They rushed out like they were on fire, their enthusiasm infectious.
Kayla nudged Aella, her voice filled with disbelief. “Wow, you were right about this!”
Aella, however, pulled her gaze away, rolling up the car window with a quiet determination. She hadn’t foreseen this exact moment, but her mind drifted back to the insatiable greed of the Caldwells from her previous life—a memory that lingered like a shadow.
Time slipped back to the day before Aella’s birthday.
Every year, she had celebrated this occasion with Tyrone, surrounded by laughter and friends. Even when the Reids fell into financial ruin, Brad remained steadfast in his commitment to throw her a lavish birthday party at the Regal Hotel.
This year, however, was no different from the past. Brad and Raine had already transformed the hall into a vibrant spectacle, sending out invitations that fluttered with promise.
As Brad adjusted the lighting, ensuring it shimmered just right, Tyrone walked in, pushing the door open with a casual air.
Brad, ever the showman, tossed his jacket over his shoulder. “Come on, Tyrone! Don’t you trust me to handle this?”
Tyrone’s gaze fell upon a wall adorned with red roses, and for a fleeting moment, his expression shifted, revealing a flicker of discomfort.
With a cold tone, he pointed at the roses, his voice steady. “Take all these red roses away.”
Brad blinked in astonishment. “Really? You didn’t use red roses for your proposal, and now you want to change them? Are you allergic to red roses or something?” His tone was teasing, but there was genuine surprise behind it.
Tyrone, looking down as if contemplating the weight of his memories, replied nonchalantly, “Red just looks tacky.”
In his previous life, he had once gifted a bouquet of red roses to Zera, a gesture that had left an indelible mark on his heart. From that moment on, Aella had developed an aversion to the very sight of them.
Brad studied Tyrone carefully, sensing the undercurrents of his emotions. Without further ado, he called over the staff to remove every single red rose in sight.
“Roses symbolize love, man. I’m trying to help you out here,” Brad insisted, his voice earnest.
Tyrone remained silent, his gaze fixed on the floor, lost in thought.
Brad pressed on, undeterred. “Red represents burning passion. It’s perfect for confessing your feelings.
“Then there’s purple—dreamy and classy, like love at first sight.
“Champagne roses? They convey mystery and romance.
“And white roses symbolize purity, sacred love, and fresh beginnings. They’re ideal for weddings, representing forever.”
“Your phone’s ringing,” Brad pointed out, nodding toward Tyrone’s pocket. “Go ahead. I’ll wrap things up here and send you a video.”
Tyrone glanced at the caller ID, his heart sinking as he hung up without answering.
He stepped out, heading to a bakery to learn the art of crafting Aella’s favorite chocolate cake.
When he finally emerged, the clock was nearing eight o’clock.
He slid into his car, turned on his phone, and was greeted by a barrage of missed calls.
With a stoic expression, Tyrone started the engine, his thoughts swirling like a tempest.
An hour later, he arrived at Bluehaven.
As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he was met by the scowls of Edwin and his parents, their faces etched with anger.
Days had passed since they last saw each other, and the tension was palpable the moment their eyes met. He opened the door, allowing them to enter the living room, the atmosphere thick with unspoken words.
Feigning casualness, he asked, “Mom, it’s late. What brings you here?”
Virginia adopted an innocent demeanor. “You haven’t been to the company for days. We were worried, so we came to check on you.”
Before she could elaborate, Ralph’s voice cut through the air like a whip. “You skip work, you don’t answer your phone—what are you even doing?”
Tyrone locked eyes with Ralph, his calm demeanor contrasting sharply with the storm brewing inside him. “Just giving you a chance to find someone to replace me.”
