Seeing that Dylan believed her, Eliana let out a silent sigh of relief. ‘Stella must go.‘

“Dylan, here’s the lunch I brought you. Luckily it didn’t spill. You have meetings all day, you should go ahead.” Eliana’s tone was soft and sweet, the kind that could melt a man’s bones.

Dylan gave her a gentle smile. “Alright. You go home and rest. I’ll be back later to have dinner with you and Liam.”

Eliana smiled tenderly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Okay. I’ll be waiting.”

Dylan took the lunch bag and headed upstairs to work.

The moment he was gone, the tenderness in Eliana’s eyes vanished, replaced by vicious malice. “God damn that Stella!”

She was truly puzzled. ‘How did Stella find out? I went abroad for treatment and had all the records deleted.

“That story about going overseas for medical care due to health complications from donating part of my liver to Dylan was a fabrication Dylan’s mom and I concocted together.

‘Dylan has believed it all these years without question. But how did Stella know?‘

Eliana walked to a secluded spot and made a call.

She said gloomily, “Stella went to the hospital. Find out which one. Make your move tonight. Stella must die. She knows too much. She’s a nobody with no powerful connections. No one will investigate her death too deeply.”

The one on the other end of the line briefly said, “Understood.”

Hanging up, a sinister smile curled Eliana’s lips. ‘Don’t blame me for being cruel, Stella. You’re just in my way!

Serena underwent a full battery of tests at the hospital. Thankfully, everything came back clear.

It was a false alarm, but the sheer disgust lingered as Serena left the hospital, a tidal wave of resentment rising within her.

She never imagined Eliana could be so vile. What hurt more was knowing Dylan loved a woman like that.

“Those who cheat will get their due. Those who abandon loyalty end up abandoning themselves. Dylan will regret this,‘ Serena thought vengefully.

Vivian had been following her around in a daze.

Seeing Serena’s clenched jaw and furious expression, she couldn’t hold back any longer. “Serena, you have to tell me what’s going on. You were with Dylan Ashford?”

Seeing Vivian’s adorable, confused expression, Serena offered a bitter smile. “He’s my ex–husband. It was a marriage of convenience. We’ve gone our separate ways. Very few people knew we were married. Please pretend you don’t know either.”

Vivian was floored. ‘Serena Hale is the heiress of Cloudmere Group. How could she have married someone like Dylan Ashford?‘

Her heart ached for her friend. She pulled Serena into a hug, patting her shoulder comfortingly. “Serena, let the past stay in the past. Your future will be so much better. There are plenty of way better men out there.”

Serena’s mood lightened considerably at her words. The two friends went for a meal nearby.

Meanwhile, Dylan’s assistant, Miles Carter, who had gone to the hospital to check on Jacob, happened to see Stella and Vivian there.

Returning to the lounge, he reported this to Dylan.

Hearing Miles’s account, combined with Stella’s earlier accusation about Eliana having an STD and her actually going to the hospital, Dylan felt Stella was being utterly unreasonable.

‘How could someone as gentle and kind as Eliana have such a disease?‘ Furious, Dylan stood up, determined to find Stella and force her to apologize to Eliana.

Night fell, the city lights glittering.

Dylan finally tracked Serena down. He watched her say goodbye to Vivian and drive off alone. He followed in his car. He needed to clear things up with her tonight. She had to apologize to Eliana.

On the Kingsbridge Overpass, he noticed Serena’s car beginning to swerve erratically.

Dylan, driving behind her, frowned deeply. ‘What is Stella doing? Doesn’t she know how dangerous that is?‘

He pulled out his phone to call her. Just then, a dark SUV accelerated suddenly, cutting across lanes and T–boned her car with brutal force.

A deafening crash echoed. Serena’s car careened through the guardrail and plunged into the dark river below.

“Stella!” Dylan screamed, his eyes widening. His heart seemed to plummet along with the car. “That’s Stella! My wife!‘
