Letting out a scream, Eliana hit the floor with a thud, landing inelegantly on her back. It genuinely hurt.
She couldn’t believe Stella would dare push her right in front of Dylan.
Serena looked down at her, a cold, haughty light in her eyes. “Eliana, I admit it this time. I pushed you. You’ve always had one thing figured out perfectly: no matter what you do, that idiot Dylan will believe you.”
Dylan frowned, staring at Stella as if she were a stranger.
Just then, Serena’s phone buzzed with an incoming message from Chris.
She opened it. It was a medical report on Eliana, and it showed an STD.
Serena’s heart gave a sickening lurch.
Remembering Dylan’s touch just days ago, a wave of visceral disgust washed over her.
Her gaze, when it returned to Eliana, was frigid. “Also, you’re right about being sick. You have a filthy disease.”
She turned her furious, blazing eyes on Dylan, her teeth practically gritted. “You bastard. You touched me just the other day. It makes my skin crawl.”
She couldn’t help but roll her eyes when she said, “The two of you are disgusting enough to make me have to go to the hospital for a full gynecological work–up.”
Seeing the profound revulsion in her eyes felt like a physical stab to Dylan. Her words were deeply insulting.
“Stella, what the hell are you ranting about?” Dylan snapped. “Eliana has a delicate constitution. Why would you push her? Apologize to her. Now.”
He quickly knelt to help Eliana up.
Serena looked at him with pure scorn. “Her constitution is delicate. She has a severe, repulsive infection. And you, you fucking idiot, touched her and then came to touch me. The two of you are nauseating.”
She pulled out her phone and called Vivian. “Vivian, come down. Now. Take me to the hospital. I was bitten by a dog the other day. I need a full panel of tests. Eliana has an STD.”
Dylan was too stunned to utter a thing.
“Dylan,” Serena said, her voice lethally quiet. “If I contract whatever disease she’s carrying because of you, I will personally cut that thing off you and feed it to the dogs.”
“Stella!” Dylan thundered, enraged. ‘How… how could she say such a thing?‘
Eliana felt her breath catch, a suffocating lump forming in her chest. ‘How did Stella know? And now Dylan knows too! What do I do? Stella, I will kill you!‘
Terrifying murderous intent shot from her eyes.
“Serena! I’m here!” Vivian came running toward them.
Dylan’s brow furrowed. “This woman called her Serena?‘

“Stella,” she wept, her voice pitiful and low. “Why are you trying to ruin me? Why are you destroying my reputation?”
Dylan frowned, looking at Eliana. The disease Stella mentioned planted a seed of doubt in his mind.
He knew Stella was knowledgeable about medicine. It was she who had treated his legs.
As Serena saw Eliana’s tearful, pitiable act, a mocking smile curled her lips. “So I’m framing you? Ruining your reputation?
“Why would I bother? Dylan and I are divorced.
“You’re welcome to claim that piece of trash. I didn’t stop you; I divorced him without a fuss.”
Eliana still wanted to say something. “But…”
“Shut up,” Serena cut her off, genuine fear now mixing with her disgust. “I’m going to the hospital for tests.” She grabbed Vivian’s arm, pulling her toward the exit.
Dylan fixed his eyes on her.
Eliana was furious. ‘That disease was treated! It’s gone! How did Stella know?‘
“Dylan,” Eliana cried, clinging to him. “Stella is saying these horrible lies to keep us apart. You have to stand up for me. Make her apologize to me!” She knew he would believe whatever she said.
Thinking of Stella’s harsh demeanor, Dylan also felt she was likely making a scene and deliberately slandering Eliana.
“Alright now, Eliana, don’t upset yourself. I believe you,” Dylan soothed. “I’ll find Stella later and make her apologize to you properly.”
He wondered, ‘Since when did Stella become so venomous? To casually say something so damaging to a woman’s reputation… But why did that woman call her Serena?‘
