Chapter 116
Chapter 116
In an instant, ten bodyguards surrounded the group.
The arrogant Zack froze.
He couldn’t believe it. This bar had the gall to call out bodyguards on them.
Yolanda’s voice cut through the tension. “Gray, call the police. Report a sexual assault and drugging.”
The four men paled.
“Now hold on, you can’t just say that, you bitch-”
A sharp crack echoed as one of the bodyguards backhanded him across the face.

Gray, the head bodyguard, leaned in, his voice a low growl. “That’s Ms. Lane. Show some respect. Say another word like that, and I’ll knock your teeth out.”
“Zack,” one of his buddies whispered, eyes wide at the blood trickling from Zack’s lip. “Zack, you’re bleeding. They can’t do that. That’s assault.”

Zack touched his stinging nose, his fingers coming away wet and red.
“What the hell? You people are crazy,” he spat. “You drug your customers and then assault them? You’re not looking for a grand opening, you’re looking to get shut down.”
The thug’s greasy eyes raked over Yolanda, taking in her deceptively delicate frame.
Yolanda met his stare with disgust, her own eyes simmering with fury. “You know, I was expecting some trouble tonight. I was just waiting for idiots like you to show up.”
With that, she pulled a small pill from her purse and deftly popped it into the dazed woman’s mouth.
The woman was already flushed and tugging at her collar, on the verge of exposing herself.
“Hey, what was that? What did you just give her?” Zack demanded, his words slightly muffled by his swelling lip.
A faint, cold smile touched Yolanda’s lips. “The antidote. And whether or not she’s really your girlfriend… well, we’ll find out as soon as she’s lucid, won’t we?”
Zack’s bravado faltered.
This was all wrong.
Usually, the bar manager would be falling all over themselves to apologize, offering free drinks and a wad of cash to make the problem go away.
This woman wasn’t playing by the script. Who the hell carried anjantidote around with them?
“Ms. Lane, the police are here,” Gray announced.
Just then, the woman’s eyes cleared. She let out a sharp cry, recoiling at the sight of Zack’s pockmarked, leering face.
When she saw the police officers, she scrambled toward them. “Officers, help me. I want to press charges. That man,” she pointed a trembling finger at Zack, “he’s been harassing me since I came in. He drugged my drink. They were going to assault me.”

Zack and his crew were speechless.
Yolanda looked at Zack. “Sir, do you have anything to say?”
“I… no. I was just joking with her. How should I know what happened to her?”

“That’s not what you were saying a minute ago, buddy,” a man at a nearby table chimed in. “Weren’t you just yelling about something being in the drink? Claiming someone drugged your girlfriend?”
The man had been watching the whole time, recognizing the group for the lowlifes they were.
Their shifty eyes and predatory vibe were a dead giveaway. He was pretty sure he’d seen the one who got hit pulling the same scam at other clubs.
“You shut your mouth. This has nothing to do with you,” Zack snarled, his face turning red as his scam unraveled.
