Beatrice said, “Just focus on getting better. I’ll handle this.”

Eliana didn’t say anything more, her mind set on her true goal. As soon as Beatrice left, she took both her own and Beatrice’s samples and went straight to the testing center. She needed answers.
She wanted to see if her suspicion was true.
In Cloudmere Estate, Serena was at home, playing games with her son.
Chris got the news and reported, “Ms. Hale, Eliana just went to a paternity testing center.”
Serena blinked in surprise. “A paternity testing center?”
Chris nodded. “Yeah, she already dropped off the samples. She paid extra, so she’ll get the results in three hours.”
Serena instantly realized who Eliana wanted to test against.
She’d always suspected–only a mother could go to such lengths for her child.
She decided to let things be for now, just to uncover the truth and see how far Beatrice would go for Eliana.
She hadn’t even had the chance to look into it herself, but Eliana had already made the first move.
Until the results came in, she wasn’t going to jump to any conclusions. She also wanted Dylan, who’d been kept in the dark, to finally see the truth for themselves.
Dylan was stubborn. He only believed what he saw with his own eyes, and nothing else could get through to him.
She looked at Chris. “Chris, we need to get the results before she does.”
Chris smiled. “Understood, Ms. Hale. I’ll make sure we find out first.”
He crouched down and watched Liam, who was quietly building his Lego set. This kid’s really something. Ever since he got back, he hasn’t cried or made a fuss, just sat quietly playing by himself.
“Ms. Hale, Liam is really well–behaved.” Chris said.
Serena’s gaze softened with warmth as she looked at her son.
“Yeah, I’m planning to take Liam out for dinner later. Don’t worry about me. Just focus on your own stuff. I’ll have the bodyguards with us,” she said.
Chris nodded. ‘Got it.”
After Chris left, Liam kept quietly to himself, sitting alone.
Serena asked, “Sweetie, do you want to keep playing the game we were just doing?”
Liam shook his head. “Mom, I can play by myself. You go do your work.”
Serena’s heart ached as she watched him. He was far too mature for his age, but her little boy didn’t have to be. He should be able to whine, be mischievous, and just be a kid, because childhood was meant to be full of precious memories. But Eliana had stolen away her son’s childhood.

She was going to help him leave those memories behind, and make sure every day of his childhood from now on would have her by his side.
“Sweetie, I’ve finished all my work for today. I have plenty of people on my team who can take care of everything else, so right now, the only thing that matters to me is being here with you,” Serena said softly.
She’d already lost three precious years with her son. There was no way she’d ever let that happen again.
