Serena stood up and walked to the window, gazing out at the view. Her face was cold and serious. She was sure Jasper was behind this.
‘How did he pull it off?‘ Serena thought. ‘Just like those four guys last time, none of them ever ratted Jasper out!
“Mommy, I want to take a nap,” Liam said, standing behind her.
Serena turned around, picked him up, and said, “Okay. I will take a nap with you.”
“Wow, Mommy, you’re the best. I used to take naps all by myself, but now you’re here with me. I’m so happy and so lucky.” Liam exclaimed.
Liam happily wrapped his arms around her neck, gave her a big kiss on the cheek, and just kept giggling.
When she saw him so happy, Serena’s heart melted completely.

In Dylan’s office, he lounged back in his chair, his black suit highlighting a relaxed elegance and noble aura, though there was a trace of fatigue on his handsome face.
He’d seen the news, too. The mess at Kismet Bar was finally over, and for some reason, he felt a wave of relief wash over him.
Miles stood nearby and said, “Mr. Ashford, Ms. Lambert is calling again.”
Dylan frowned, irritation flickering in his eyes. “Tell her I’m busy.”
Miles couldn’t help but feel exasperated. ‘He still can’t let go of the past. No wonder Mrs. Hale left him so decisively. The guy’s got no heart at all, he thought.
Looking at that strikingly handsome face, Miles had to admit that, aside from his stubbornness, Dylan was actually a decent
guy.
That was why Miles had worked for him all these years.
“Got it.” Miles turned to answer the phone.
“Ms. Lambert, Mr. Ashford is currently unavailable and can’t take your call right now,” Miles said.
Eliana sneered, “Miles, I know he’s not busy. Just put him on. There are things I want to explain to him myself.”
Miles turned to the weary Dylan and said, “Ms. Lambert, Mr. Ashford’s got maybe half a year left tops. He’s been really sick lately. Can’t you just let him live out his last days quietly?”
Eliana was stunned for a moment. It hit her again that Dylan only had half a year left.
Eliana just couldn’t get over how good Dylan used to be to her. He used to call her every day, always checking in, always caring.
Now that he was suddenly missing from her life, the loneliness hit her hard.
“Miles, go beg Stella to save Dylan. She must know what to do,” Eliana cried out, desperate.
Eliana really didn’t want Dylan to die. This time when she came back, she’d actually hoped they could start over.
“Ms. Hale won’t even talk to me now. After what you all did, and getting Mr. Ashford mixed up in it, why would she ever

help?” Miles said and hung up.

Eliana sat on the hospital bed, tears streaming down her face as she stared at her phone after the call was cut off.
She just sat there, dazed, for a while before finally wiping away her tears.
Eliana thought, ‘Dylan’s dying. Even the doctors have basically given him a death sentence. How could that bitch Stella possibly save him? He’s only got half a year left. What’s even left for me to get out of this in the next six months?’
