Serena looked up and found herself lost in his deep, unfamiliar eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly brushed the thought away.

Dylan, do you remember what I said to you the day I left? I don’t want to see you again. After the way you treated my child, he wants nothing to do with you either,Serena said.

Her words were easy to understand. She was telling Dylan to get real and know his limits.

Dylan was already feeling sick, his face pale as a sheet. When he heard Serena’s words, his stomach twisted with guilt. He couldn’t even meet her eyes. Dylan thought, I let Eliana and Beatrice get away with everything.

I am beyond forgiveness for Stella.

But every time Dylan saw Liam, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of guilt deep inside.

I’m sorry. I was just worried about you. Seeing you both safe and sound helps me relax,Dylan said, and his voice was dry and lifeless. His face was pale. He looked like he might collapse any second.

He stared at Serena and Liam, but neither of them would even look at him, their heads bowed. The guilt was eating him alive, and the shame of facing them was almost unbearable.

Knowing he had messed up, Dylan just stood there with his head down, watching them quietly for a moment before leaving without a word.

As Dylan was about to leave, Serena called out, Dylan, I just hope Eliana and Beatrice, the ones you decided to let go, won’t do anything that’ll make you regret your choice.”

Dylan froze, remembering that his dad was still missing and that he’d once gone to the paternity testing center.

His dad really did get a paternity test done, but he never made it clear whose test it actually was.

There was a doctor there who was an old friend of his dad’s. The doctor told Dylan he hadn’t looked at the results and had no clue whose paternity test it was for.

Stella, what do you mean by that? Are you hiding something from me?Dylan demanded, his voice rising with agitation.

Serena gave a cold laugh and glanced at him with disdain. How would I know anything? All I know is you’re not fit to be a father. You couldn’t even protect your own son.

You and Eliana ganged up on him and hurt him. Is that why you took him away from me in the first place?

Serena knew she’d never be able to forget what happened. Just thinking about how her son was mistreated made her break down in tears.

Dylan thought, No matter how I try to explain, Stella will never believe me. I wasn’t even part of what happened back then.

I was just there on a business trip when I found out Eliana had given birth to my child. I’d always had feelings for her, so I chose to stay by her side.

I ended up neglecting Serena, but what I never imagined was that I’d get tangled up in someone else’s scheme

Dylan forced a bitter smile and said, Serena, if I told you everything that happened back then was just a coincidence, would you believe me?

Serena’s voice was unwavering. No, I won’t believe a single word you say. I’m done trusting you, just like you never believed me before. I was always torn between coming clean and keeping secrets, never knowing what to do.

But now, I’m done hesitating. I’m telling you now. I’ll never believe another word from you.

Just thinking about everything that had happened, Serena’s heart felt like it was being ripped apart.
