Zoe quickly stopped, turned around, and put on a hopeful look as she gazed at Eliana. “Eliana, are you finally willing to help Simon?”

Eliana shook her head. She walked over, pulled a card out of her bag, and handed it to Zoe.

“Mom, there’s 600 thousand dollars on this card. If Dad doesn’t get better, this should be enough for your retirement.

“Try to be frugal with it. And when Simon gets out, no matter what, don’t let him know you have this much money,” Eliana said.

Eliana knew that leaving Zoe was the hardest thing for her to do.

Zoe looked at her, her eyes full of complicated emotions. Eliana might not be her daughter, but she had raised her from childhood; there was no way she could pretend she didn’t care.

Of all her children, Eliana had always been the one Zoe loved the most.

Zoe took the card and nodded. “Thank you, Eliana.”

Zoe left with the card. ‘Having this money will put my mind at ease. I might as well take it with me, she thought.

Beatrice shook her head. “I don’t know.”

Back then, Beatrice took Zoe’s child and left her at the orphanage. After that, she never checked up on her or tried to find out what happened.

Zoe was desperate to break free from him, so Serena was sure she’d start collecting proof to send Jasper to jail.

Now, all Serena had to do was wait. She just needed to wait for Eliana and Jasper to deliver the evidence themselves.
