Dylan looked at her, on edge and bristling, her wide, wary eyes full of defensiveness. She was so cute and pretty that he couldn’t help but smile. Stella, I’m not trying to help her. I just want to know, did Eliana steal your company’s designs?

That was all he wanted to ask, but seeing how defensive she was made his heart ache.

Ever since he found out her secret, he couldn’t help but want to see her every single day.

Serena froze for a moment when he suddenly called her Stella.

Dylan calling her that was something only Stella had ever heard from him.

But now, Dylan was already gone from her life.

Her heart still clung to the boy he once was.

Serena said coolly, Yeah, but what do you expect me to do? If you want to stand up for her, save it for the courtroom. With all the charges stacked against her, she’ll probably be locked up for life. You’d better get ready for that.

Eliana was stunned. Seriously, what nonsense is Stella spouting?she thought.

She spotted Dylan and walked over with a smile, shooting a playful look at Serena. Dylan loves me. He’d give his life for me, so of course he’ll stand up for me.

Dylan took a step back, putting some space between them, his voice cold as a winter night.

Eliana, I was fooled by your act. I couldn’t see the chaos brewing underneath, or the fake and the viciousness behind it all. Now that the truth’s out, how do you still have the guts to get close to me?he said.

From now on, keep your distance. Stay away from me.”

There was no hiding the disgust in Dylan’s eyes, and the icy vibe coming off him made Eliana flinch.

That’s just how people are; once the ugly truth is ripped open, all those sweet memories get smashed to bits. All that’s left is pure loathing.

Eliana just got slapped in the face; her expression was downright ugly with humiliation.

The more arrogant she was a moment ago, the more miserable and embarrassed she looked now.

Serena didn’t bother arguing with Dylan any further. She just left with Kendall.

Dylan reluctantly watched her leave, not wanting to let her out of his sight. It’s so nice to see her every day,he thought.

But lately, she hadn’t been around the office much.

It suddenly hit him that if Stella really wanted to avoid him, he might never see her again.

His heart was thrown into complete turmoil.

Eliana saw the way Dylan was looking at Serena, completely hung up on her, and she knew she’d lost for good.

She let out a cold laugh, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Dylan, your love is so cheap.

Dylan fired back, just as mocking. Is stealing all you know how to do? I never loved you, so cheap doesn’t even apply here.

Eliana’s words caught in her throat, tears filling her eyes. Her frail body shivered in the biting wind, and hearing him say it pierced her heart again. She’d fallen for the lie, trapped and helpless.

Dylan turned and walked away, his upright figure fading from view.

Bet Eliana just stood there, the cold air biting at her as her heart felt like it was being torn apart.

Dylan, I hate you!she screamed inside. Who gave you the right to give me hope, then toss me into the abyss?

Isn’t it Stella you love?she thought.

Alright then, let’s see just how long your love for her lasts.she wondered.

If I can’t have you, then Stella won’t get you either.she exclaimed inwardly.

Eliana climbed into the car parked by the curb, flanked by her bodyguards.

She’d hired them, worried Stella might come after her and stir up trouble; turns out, they were actually useful after all.

Serena drove Kendall home. Kendall was so mad that she burst into tears. Ms. Hale, Eliana, and I are just sworn enemies. Raising her kid was bad enough, but why does she still have to mess with me even now?

Serena gazed at Kendall’s tearstained face, sighing. There’s more between you two than you realize. You’ll understand it all one day.

Kendall felt like there was something more behind Serena’s words.

She looked at Serena anxiously. Ms. Hale, do you know something else? Please, don’t keep me in the dark. I’m still really worried about Cassie.
