“Wyatt, don’t panic. I’ll head over right now,” Serena said, surprised. She wondered, ‘Why would something happen now, of all times?
‘Logan was always healthy.
‘I’d given him the Tanzanite, so regular poisons wouldn’t do anything to him.
‘Unless it is something really deadly.
‘Some of the methods those elite families used are absolutely ruthless.’
Logan had always been good to Serena since she was a kid, so she devoted an entire year to making a string of Tanzanite beads just for him.
“Okay! Serena, you’re the only one I trust. I’ve already contacted my dad. Can you go check on him?” Wyatt said.
“Okay! Wyatt, don’t panic. I’ll head over right now,” Serena replied.
Serena hung up and turned to Edwin. “Grandpa, something has happened to Logan. I’m going over to check on him.”
Edwin frowned, “Seriously? Why does that old guy have to get into trouble right at Christmas? Damn, don’t tell me he is gonna end up six feet under during the holidays.”
Serena didn’t know what to say.
Edwin thought, ‘Crap, Jonathan has finally made his move. Logan is in deep trouble now!
‘Seriously, who messes around like this during Christmas?
‘Even beggars get a break for Christmas.
Jonathan is not even letting his own brother enjoy the holiday!
Edwin warned her, “Serena, this is dangerous. I’m pretty sure Jonathan is behind it. Be extra careful on your way over.
“You cut off his business deals and blocked his shares before. Talk about pouring fuel on the fire and making things even worse.
“He has spent most of his life clawing his way up, and now you’re like a mountain he just can’t get past. If he wants you gone, he won’t hesitate to take you out.”
Edwin knew exactly what kind of person Jonathan was: twisted, vicious, and downright evil.
Edwin thought, Jonathan had been like that since he was young, and he’s got a bunch of illegitimate kids all over the place!

Serena laughed, totally fearless and cocky. “Grandpa, I’m not scared.”
Edwin smiled, clearly proud of her, “You’ve got every right to be cocky, kid.”
She turned to Lyra. “Lyra, grab the first aid kit. Chris, go get the car ready.
“Yolanda, Caleb, stay here and look after Liam and the elders.”
Yolanda and Caleb both nodded.

Twenty minutes later, Serena and the others arrived at the Ellington family’s place.
The Ellington family’s butler had been waiting out there in the cold for quite some time, anxiously watching for Serena.
When he saw her, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Ms. Hale, you’re here! Please, come inside!” the butler said, leading the way.
As they entered the main hall, they saw Logan sprawled out on the sofa, his face a disturbing bluish–gray.
The room was crowded with people, and two doctors were working frantically to resuscitate him.
When Richard saw Serena arrive, he finally felt reassured. Most people had no idea what Serena was truly capable of, but he did.
He said, “Serena, thank you for coming. Sorry to bother you right in the middle of the Christmas holiday. My dad just collapsed out of nowhere.”
Richard was Wyatt’s father, a man of integrity, fair and honest in both life and business.
“Richard, saving grandpa comes first,” Serena said, rushing over.
Richard told the family’s doctors to leave. They were no help at all.
One of the doctors shot Serena a strange look.
But everyone was too focused on Logan to notice the look in his eyes.
Serena took one look at Logan’s face, ashen and tinged with a bluish–black hue. And after checking his body, she was certain he’d been poisoned.
After a moment, Serena looked at Richard and said, “Richard, Logan has been poisoned. Luckily, he always wears the Tanzanite. That’s what kept him alive.”
Richard let out a sigh of relief.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead. He’d really been scared out of his wits.
