When he saw Stella’s disgusted glare, Dylan’s mood darkened to the point where he felt like snapping.

“Stella, don’t go overboard. You’ve really outdone yourself with how vicious you’ve been just to slander Eliana. How did you get so cruel?” Dylan said sharply.

Leaning against the wall, Dylan felt miserable and wondered, ‘Why did Stella turn so bitter?‘

Stella had learned to face such questions calmly once she decided not to love anymore.

She looked at Dylan like he was a fool.

Serena said, “Dylan, you can stay with Eliana for the rest of your life if you want. In your heart, she’s that pure and innocent. As I said, I won’t interfere with you two. It’s always you who shows up and bothers me.

“And do you really think that car accident was just an accident? Do you honestly believe that after few words to Pierre, he’d come after me?”

For some reason, hearing her worry eased the frustration in Dylan’s heart.

Stella quickly crouched down, took some tissue from her bag, and pressed it against Dylan’s wrist, checking him.

Dylan rolled his eyes internally.

Stella quickly diagnosed that his stomach ailment had flared up.

She had some spare medication and pulled out a pill, hesitating on how to give it to him.

“Even just touching could spread it. Those two must have kissed. If he’s come into contact with her saliva, that’s infectious, too, right?” Stella muttered to herself.

Dylan closed his eyes and thought, ‘Could it be true? No, I can’t doubt Eliana. Stella must be doing this on purpose. She knows I’m going to marry Eliana. She’s jealous. But she already has someone she likes. Why would she be jealous?‘

Stella looked conflicted. Just then, she suddenly spotted Miles outside the door.

“Hey, Miles,” Stella called out quickly.

“Hey, Mrs. Hale. I heard you had a car accident a month ago. Are you feeling better now?” Miles smiled happily upon seeing Serena.

Serena thought, ‘My immune system is weak, but Miles is different.‘

“Miles, thanks for asking. I’m fine. But Dylan’s having an issue; his stomach ailment flared up. Can you give him his medicine?” Serena gestured toward Dylan lying on the floor.

Miles glanced at Dylan, still in a decent mood.

He said, “Whoa, Mrs. Hale, why are you bothering with that loser? They treated you so badly, yet you’re still nursing his stomach? Speaking of which, since you married Mr. Ashford, he hasn’t had a stomach problem, so why now all of a sudden?

“Serves him right. That bastard deserves whatever comes to him. One day, the Lambert family will bleed him dry.”

Serena paused for a moment, realizing, ‘I forgot to tell him Dylan might still be semi–conscious and not fully

out.‘

Deep inside, Dylan was burning with anger. ‘Damn it, to curry favor, Miles even insults me,‘ he thought.

Serena forced a smile. “Miles, just give Mr. Ashford his medicine. I’m heading out.”

She handed the medicine to Miles and quickly left.

Knowing Dylan wasn’t completely unconscious, Serena decided to get away immediately.

‘Sorry, Miles, you’ll have to face Dylan’s wrath yourself,‘ Serena thought.

Miles froze, wondering, ‘Why did Mrs. Hale leave so fast?‘
