Miles glanced at the medicine in his hand, then at the tissue wrapped around Dylan’s wrist.

“Mrs. Hale really dislikes Mr. Ashford, huh? She even puts a layer of tissue down just to check on him. Honestly, I’m not a fan of his, either,” Miles muttered to himself.

Despite his disdain, Miles still gave the medicine to Dylan.

After swallowing the pill, Dylan immediately opened his deep, intense eyes.

Meeting Dylan’s cold stare, Miles jumped and landed hard on the floor.

“Whoa, holy crap, you scared me,” Miles exclaimed.

His eyes wide open, Miles thought, ‘Is this jerk faking being out cold?‘

Dylan sneered, “I’m the one who got scared.”

Miles forced a smile. “Mr. Ashford, is your stomach still hurting? Want to go to the hospital?”

‘This is so tough. I’m just a regular guy working here. I know I’m talented, but right now, in front of Mr. Ashford, I feel completely useless,‘ Miles thought.

“I’ll go to hell,” Dylan snapped angrily, snatching the medicine back from Miles.

Gotta admit, Stella’s medicine worked well. After taking it, Dylan’s stomach felt much better.

“Oh, and check on Pierre again,” Dylan said, recalling Stella’s words. His eyes narrowed, deep as an abyss.

‘Stella says I never trusted her. How could she say that? I’ve always trusted her at work. Grandpa and Grandma trust her, too. If she thinks there’s something fishy about Pierre, I’ll have someone look into it again,‘ Dylan thought.

Miles frowned. “I’ve already met Pierre three times. Every time, he says the same thing, Mrs. Hale offended Mr. Liam, and out of sympathy for Mr. Liam and Eliana, he intentionally crashed into Mrs. Hale’s car. He confessed and took full responsibility.”

Dylan furrowed his brow, thinking, ‘Pierre has worked for the Ashford family his whole life. He’s loyal. He might actually do something like that, but his way is way too extreme. Stella said I’m living surrounded by lies. I think she’s the one fooling herself.

“Enough. Let’s go,” Dylan said.

His face looked pale, and though his stomach no longer hurt, he still felt uncomfortable.
