That day at the hospital, someone had been following her. At first, Serena thought her own suspicion was ridiculous. But being followed confirmed she was right.

Serena became increasingly certain that Liam was her son.

“I don’t have the mood to see you right now,” Serena said. “The moment I see you, I think about what you did to me. Pierre ran me down with his car, and you sent people to ruin me.

“Dylan, are you really that cruel? What could we even talk about?”

Her remaining feelings for Dylan were fading, and soon, they might disappear completely.

She had never been as ruthless as Dylan.

Eliana had clawed her way up by any means, and Dylan showered her with unconditional love, covering up everything she did.

Dylan choked. He had made it sound too simple, and suddenly, a thought struck him.

He gave a sharp, knowing smile. “Stella, I get it. Are you trying to frame Eliana again?”

Serena had grown numb to accusations like that. “Think whatever you want, but I’ll find out the truth.”

Dylan said firmly, “Stella, I know divorce has been unfair to you, but repeatedly attacking Eliana me? Isn’t that going too far?”

“It is too far,” Serena admitted. “But from now on, I’ll witness your love properly.” With that, she hung up.

Almost immediately, Chris called.

“Hello, Chris,” Serena answered.

“Ms. Hale, Dylan helped the Lambert family sort everything out. He bought that piece of land for them,” Chris reported.

Serena furrowed her brows. “That land was never approved before. There must be an issue. Use your connections to investigate tomorrow.”

“Understood, Ms. Hale. I’ll look into it tomorrow,” Chris said.

After hanging up, Serena thought, ‘Who else could be behind Eliana’s meticulous scheming? She is so stupid. There’s no way she could cover her tracks completely

Serena stood up and paced in the hall.

Lyra still hadn’t made contact, either.

Serena felt restless.
