Beatrice was already fuming at the thought that Stella had reported the Ashfords. But ever since the divorce, she felt a nagging guilt that made her reluctant to face Stella.
After their last encounter at the hospital, she was even more determined to avoid her, worried that Stella’s sharp instincts would uncover the truth.
Now, Dylan was growing suspicious because of what Stella had said and the incident with Pierre.
Everything had to be shut down immediately.
The consequences would be disastrous otherwise.
Beatrice’s gaze turned icy at the thought.
She was confident she could handle Jasper.
“I’ll deal with Stella later, but you’re the more pressing problem,” Beatrice said. “Jasper, you know better than anyone what a greedy piece of work you are. If you want your daughter to have a happy life, you’ll sign these papers.”
Jasper’s face darkened. “Beatrice, you have no right to demand this. Eliana isn’t even married into your family yet.”
Eliana knew exactly why her father was refusing–he wasn’t about to give up his cash cow, Dylan. She dropped to her knees. “Dad, please,” she begged. “For my happiness, just sign the papers.”
Jasper froze, his eyes turning red. Was Eliana really willing to disown him for her own happiness?
Eliana knew that by kneeling, she was ensuring her father would now utterly despise Stella.
He would do anything to get rid of her.
If either of them was out of the picture, it would be to her advantage.
Jasper’s greed was insatiable, and Stella had to be eliminated for her plan to work.
Jasper stumbled back, his face contorting with anger and pain. He stared at his daughter in disbelief. Even if their bond was weak, she was still his child.
He couldn’t accept that she would cast him aside for wealth and status.
“Eliana, are you really abandoning me for money?” Jasper demanded, his voice thick with anguish. “Your mother doted on you. She’d go out of her way just to make you your favorite shrimp dish. If she knew you were throwing her away for a life of luxury, it would destroy her.”
Signing those papers meant he would have no connection to this family at all.
Absolutely not.

‘That fool Dylan only loves my daughter,‘ he thought. As long as she keeps whispering in his ear, the Ashfords will eventually be under my control.
Eliana grabbed her father’s hand, tears streaming down her face. “Dad, do you have any idea how much money that is? Hundreds of millions. It’s more than most people could earn in several lifetimes. Dylan gave it to our family without a second thought. You can’t do this to him. He’s done nothing wrong. You’re the one in the wrong here.”
That kind of money could have set her up for life, spent on whatever she wanted. The thought of it all going to her useless father made her sick.
Jasper was taken aback again. It was true; Dylan was the biggest fool he’d ever met.
He himself wouldn’t have given away a million dollars, let alone hundreds of millions.
But it was precisely because Dylan had given it so easily that Jasper’s greed had grown.
Beatrice seized the opportunity. “Jasper, you sent those four men in the alley to hurt Stella. If Dylan finds out, he won’t let you off the hook. Just sign the papers, and I’ll keep it quiet for you.”
“You know what Dylan is like,” she continued. “If he learns the truth, he’ll cut you off completely. The only reason he ever helped you was for Eliana’s sake.”
With that, Beatrice pushed the papers toward Jasper, urging him to sign.
