She pulled Joanna out into the hallway. "Weren't you on a business trip in South Africa? Why did you come back so suddenly? You came straight to the hospital the minute you landed. It seems that elder must be very important to you."

"Very important..." Joanna muttered under her breath.

Lydia asked, "So, what did you want to talk to me about so urgently?"

Joanna just stared at her with a complicated expression, saying nothing.

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

"Lydia, what on earth happened to you?"

Hearing the care in Joanna's voice, tears pricked the corners of Lydia's eyes. She raised a hand to wipe them away and shook her head, instead asking, "Do you know where Daniel went for his trip?"
