The elevator doors slid shut!
As her terror slightly subsided, she let out a breathless gasp of relief and looked up, meeting Xavier's severe, downward gaze.
The impossibly dignified man reeked of alcohol, the corners of his eyes faintly red. His voice was hoarse and incredibly fierce. "Do you have a death wish?"
"No..."
She murmured softly. The alcohol had clearly gone to her head, making her lose her footing.
The large hand resting on the back of her neck suddenly exerted force, tilting her face up. The man's scorching breath brushed her lips as his deep eyes locked onto her flushed, tipsy face.
Less than an inch separated them. Their warm breaths tangled intimately in the air, rich with the scent of fine liquor.
"Why would you risk your neck to follow me in?"
He frowned in displeasure, yet his grip on her narrow waist tightened even further. His gaze was intensely scrutinizing.
The searing heat of his palm burned straight through the thin fabric of her dress, making her heart skip a beat.
Her slender frame trembled slightly in his embrace. She pressed her hands flat against his chest, trying to shove him away. But the moment she touched him, her fingers curled involuntarily, lightly gripping his crisp white shirt. Her flushed lips parted slightly. "I..."
The elevator gave a sudden, violent jolt, plunging into pitch darkness.
She crashed against his chest, her lips colliding with something incredibly soft.
Her mind went completely blank.
A second after their lips met, the man aggressively deepened the kiss. The hand on her nape slid up to the back of her head, holding her face in an attitude of absolute dominance as he thoroughly took her.
The intoxicating taste of alcohol swirled through the silken, tangled intimacy.
His clean, masculine scent and the scorching heat exclusive to him completely engulfed her, turning her limbs to jelly...
The elevator chimed, and the doors slowly glided open.
As the light from the hallway poured in, she caught a glimpse of a raging tide of lust in his dark eyes, causing her own to tremble.
The next second, he grabbed her shoulders and firmly pushed her back.
"Sorry. Had too much to drink."
