was easy to get along with gest all that. Bottom line, this guy was a big deal. She just didn’t know if he

She kept scrolling.

“Candidate No. 2: Cheiron Jewett”

“Spiritual Power Level: 35”

“Affiliation: Imperial Academy of Sciences”

“Position: Academician of the Imperial Academy of Sciences, Director of Prime Planet Central Hospital”

“Home Galaxy: Prime Planet”

The second she saw the name “Cheiron,” Margaret’s breath hitched. She instinctively covered her ears.

“AHHHHHHH!!!” Primo screamed in her head like a fire alarm going off. “I told you! He’s on the list! See? He was definitely waiting for this email too!!”

Margaret was at a loss for words.

She’d braced herself somewhat, but she kept forgetting that Primo’s shricks went off like an air horn directly inside her skull. The first two names on the list were basically what she’d anticipated.

On instinct, she lifted her gaze across the table. Cheiron was also staring down at his Holo bracelet.

His expression hadn’t budged an inch from five minutes ago. His finger scrolled at a steady pace, betraying no sign that he was looking at anything important

She watched him for two seconds. He didn’t glance up. So she looked away and kept quiet.

Primo was doing laps inside her head. “Ask him! See if his name is on there! What’s his reaction?!”

“What’s the hurry? His face didn’t even flinch.”

“What if he’s bouling it up?!”

“Could you please just be normal for once?”

Margaret tamped down the tiny flutter in her chest and continued reading.

“Candidate No. 3: Timothy Hurst”

“Spiritual Power Level: 35”

“Affiliation. Valoran Galaxy, the Hurst Group”

“Position: Heir of the Hurst Group”

“Home Galaxy: Valoran”

“Valoran Galaxy?” Margaret vaguely remembered seeing that name somewhere while scrolling through her Holo-bracelet. “Isn’t that the galaxy known for tourism?”

“Exactly! The Valoran Galaxy has the richest tourism resources of all twelve galaxies. Six five-star resort planets alone.” Primo quickly pulled up the data. “As for the Hurst Group… let me check…”

“Host.” Primo’s tone suddenly shifted, taking on a cautious edge, as if it was bracing Margaret for bad news.

“Spit it out.”

The Hurst Group is the number one private conglomerate in terms of total assets across all twelve galaxies.”

Margaret blinked.

“Meaning?”

“The Hurst Group has its fingers in energy, transportation, interstellar tourism, and mining-four major industries. Over three hundred subsidiaries fall under its umbrella. Timothy is the sole heir to the entire empire.”

“So… the son of the wealthiest man in the galaxy. Actually, make that the wealthiest man across all twelve galaxies.”

Margaret went completely quiet for three full seconds.

“What?! You mean this guy eats fresh veggies, eggs, and beef with every single meal?!” Margaret finally lost her cool. This guy was a one man treasure vault!

“Host, could we aim a little higher for once? Please stop obsessing over food.”

A Federal Supreme Commander. An Imperial Academy academician and hospital director. The sole heir of the wealthiest conglomerate in twelve galaxies. And those were just the first three.

Her fingers were tingling as she scrolled down.

“Candidate No. 4: Tyrone Jackson”

“Spiritual Power Level: 35”

“Affiliation: Unknown”

“Position: Unknown”

“Home Galaxy: Xylos”

Note: “Relevant information on this candidate is currently unavailable. No further data exists in the Central Brain’s database.”

Margaret stared. What did “information unavailable” even mean? There were people the Central Brain couldn’t find?

“Candidate No. 5: Quentin Jackson“

Note: “Relevant information on this candidate is currently unavailable. No further data exists in the Central Brain’s database.”

This one was even more ridiculous. Even the home galaxy was unknown.

Margaret finished going over the rest of the list, her brow knitted in bewilderment.

“Primo, how is it that the Central Brain has no record of Tyrone or Quentin? Isn’t it supposed to be the Empire’s technological nerve center?”

“Theoretically, yes. But the Central Brain isn’t all seeing. If someone has spent their entire existence in some remote galaxy way outside the Brain’s coverage area… take this Xylos place, for example, I checked it out. It’s a galaxy on the edge of the twelve, and from what I can tell, their civilization leans heavily traditional. Not much tech integration.”

“Traditional?”

“Yeah, the kind of place that prizes old fashioned cultivation and doesn’t really hook into the Central Brain’s network. So it’s not too surprising that Tyrone comes from there. But Quentin? He doesn’t even have a home galaxy listed. That’s even stranger. Either he used some underhanded method to wipe his personal data, or the Central Brain never had a file on him in the first place.”

Margaret gave a slight nod, swept her eyes over the list one last time from start to finish, then kept scrolling. One final sentence sat at the very bottom of the email.

“Please enter your current residential address into the system within three days to allow your matched males to visit your residence for initial introductions.”

Enter her address?

She was staying at Cheiron’s place for now. And that “specialist” the Empire had promised to send about her housing situation hadn’t shown up yet.
