Galaxy's Only Triple-S: Five Lords Can't Hold Her novel Chapter 7

The three men stood at the door.

Ardon frowned. His eyes scanned Margaret's face, then moved past her into the room. Raikes had no expression, but his gaze also swept the room quickly. Only Kiran stood a little farther back, his eyes calm behind his glasses—unreadable.

"There was a spiritual power fluctuation just now," Kiran said first. His voice was as businesslike as ever. "The source was your room."

Margaret raised an eyebrow. "So?"

"So we came to check it out." Ardon picked it up. His nose twitched—like he was trying to identify a certain scent. "That fluctuation didn't feel like C-class. At least A-class or higher."

Seeing them like this, Margaret relaxed. No one was actually sensing her current spiritual power. They just thought she had someone hidden in her room.

She almost laughed out loud.

Margaret leaned against the doorframe, crossed her arms, and tilted her head. "Three grown men can't sleep at night, so you run up to my door because you thought you sensed an A-class fluctuation in my room?"

She paused, offering a mocking smile. "What's the matter? Afraid I'm hiding someone? Or afraid I kidnapped your goddess Phoebe?"

Ardon's face darkened. "You—"

"What about me?" Margaret cut him off. "I'm a C-class loser. Your goddess Phoebe could pin me down with one finger. Me—kidnap her? With what? My stunningly beautiful face? I'd scare her unconscious."

Ardon opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

Raikes couldn't be bothered with her sarcasm. He just stepped right into the room.

He glanced at the window—closed.

He looked in the closet—open and empty.

"What were you doing in here?" His tone was harsh.

Margaret tugged at her sweat-soaked shirt. "Can't you tell, Mr. Walker?" she said. "Working out. Exercising. You know—just worried that after I divorce you three, one day I might end up dead in some forgotten corner of some planet."

Raikes could hear the sarcasm dripping off every word. His temper flared. His fists clenched. He was about to say something when Kiran cut in.

"That fluctuation just now," Kiran said, his voice as calm as if they were just chatting. "Did you feel anything?"

Margaret turned to look at him. She didn't hate Kiran as much as the others—he was at least the most human of the three.

"Feel what?" she asked.

Kiran said, "Anything unusual. Dizziness. Ringing in your ears. A sudden mental haze."

Margaret's mind stirred. A strange thought crossed her mind—was this guy actually giving her an out? But she kept her face blank. She frowned, pretending to think, "Now that you mention it... My Holo-bracelet buzzed, and then my head got a little dizzy. Why?"

Kiran didn't answer. He just looked at Raikes.

Raikes was quiet for a few seconds. Then he turned and walked out without saying a word.

Ardon froze. "That's... that's it?"

"Confirmed the source." Raikes didn't even look back. "Prime Planet is upgrading its spiritual power relay stations. Some fluctuations are spilling over. Her C-class constitution is sensitive. That's why she reacted."

Ardon opened his mouth, looked at Raikes' retreating back, then at Margaret. Finally, he muttered another curse and followed.

Kiran was the last to leave. At the door, he turned back to look at Margaret. His gaze was very calm, but Margaret felt like he was studying her.

"Something else, Mr. Noah?" she asked. Even though he had just given her an out, she still didn't like any of these three husbands.

Kiran hesitated. Then he said, "You haven't signed the agreements yet."

Margaret blinked. "What agreements?"
