This had only ever been a deliberate ploy to put the target on guard. She put away her Holo-bracelet and turned her attention to the lively scene all around her.
Timothy had taken her to a seaside resort of incredible luxury. What was originally meant to be a simple welcome gathering had turned into a huge open-air beach party.
Bright sunlight shone over the golden shore, and waves rolled toward the sand, Blaring electronic music filled the air. Men and women dressed in light summer clothing danced freely on the dance floor. A long buffet table was piled high with premium food from countless galaxies. Fruits took up most of the table space-they were well-known luxuries across the galaxies.
The party crowd was very diverse. It included Timothy’s business contacts, local nobles from Valoran Galaxy, and many regular hotel guests.
Timothy wore a bright, eye-catching beach outfit that day. The sea wind ruffled his short blond hair. He already had a naturally charming appearance, and his laid-back, playful demeanor made him endlessly appealing to those around him.
The nearby females stared at him with obvious longing. Their gazes lingered openly, even with Margaret sitting right beside him.
Timothy paid no attention to the admiring looks, though. He stuck close to Margaret, unwilling to move an inch away from her.
“My Lady, the sun is way too strong out here. Should I have someone set up a sun umbrella for you?
“Are you hungry? I know you love fruit. I’ll grab a plate for you right away.
“Want to go swim in the ocean? I have a small submersible. We could dive down to see the coral reefs.”
He talked rapidly without pause and waved a handheld fan back and forth, fanning Margaret loyally.
Margaret grew tired of his endless chatter. She reached out and held the moving fan steady.
She said, “I’m not hot, and I’m not hungry. Can you stay quiet for just five minutes?”
Timothy pouted and looked dejected, “I just didn’t want you to get bored. We don’t get to go on vacation often. You can’t just sit here staring into space the whole time.”
A new idea crossed his mind. He pointed toward a stall on the far side of the beach. “They sell glowing drinks from Valoranet Planet over there. Your body will glow after dark once you drink one. Do you want to try it? I’ll go get you a cup.”
Glow? Where?
Margaret followed his gaze toward the stall.
A simple canopy stood at the edge of the beach. Neat rows of glass bottles lined the counter, Colorful liquid inside each bottle gave off an eerie fluorescent glow under the blazing sun.
The drink looked deeply suspicious. The strange glow reminded her of industrial waste tainted with

excessive heavy metals. Anyone who drank it would become a walking light source, never needing to turn on a lamp even when getting up in the middle of the night.
She was about to refuse the odd, futuristic drink when her eyes landed on a figure in the crowd behind the stall.
Nearly every guest at the party wore light swimwear, eager to show off their figures. Standing among all these lively men and women was a lone, dark figure that stood out dramatically.
The person was wrapped in a thick, oversized black cloak. The hood was pulled down extremely low, hiding most of his face deep in shadow.
The temperature on the beach was well over 86 degrees. Wearing a heavy black cloak in such heat was bizarre-it was as if the person wanted everyone to notice them.
This style of clothing was the classic look for villains in old Earth television dramas. It was just as out of place here among interstellar vacationers. The dark cloak alone made it obvious the person had something to hide.
Margaret kept her expression calm and turned to Timothy. “Alright, I’ll go get it myself.”
Timothy tilted his head in confusion. “I can go get it for you-”
Margaret stood up and brushed grains of sand off her dress. “My legs fell asleep from sitting so long. I need to walk around and stretch them out.”
Timothy followed closely behind her without hesitation.
As the two walked toward the stall, Margaret spoke to Primo inside her mind. “Primo, run a scan on the person wearing the black cloak.”
Primo replied instantly, “Understood. Scanning now.”
Margaret had not even reached the stall when Primo’s voice rang out, filled with confusion. “Host, that’s Ardon.”
Margaret froze in her tracks.
Ardon?
She glanced again at the shadowy figure. The cloak was large and thick, with the hood pulled down past the tip of the person’s nose. The figure was wrapped up like a movable tent. No one could make out his face, or even his general build, beneath the heavy fabric,
