Chapter 127
Scarlett’s POV
Kathleen had invited us to join their fun, but Lucien stood up, offering his hand to me as the music grew louder while the others gathered, giving us our own moment.
“May I have this moment to dance with me, my little wolf?”
I glanced at him, the corner of my lips lifting as I took his hand and let him help me up.
There were plenty of couples like us on the sidelines, having their moments as well. Some were swaying, dancing together to the rhythm of the song.
Once I steadied myself, he pulled me close, his hands firm at my waist, guiding me effortlessly. The chaos around us faded. The pack’s cheers became a distant roar–some teased us, some celebrated, and some even dragged their friends to dance along with us.
“You’ve gone quiet,” I heard him murmur, his breath warm against my cheek.
I looked into his eyes and smiled. “I still can’t believe I have become a Luna again. I thought that after dissolving my bond with Alexander, I would be more resistant to something like this.”
“Do you regret it?” His hand tightened slightly at my waist.
The question stung, but I shook my head quickly. “I don’t… It’s just that I’m surprised by how things have turned out. After all, we just finished rescuing the one Alexander captured who will be executed tomorrow, and suddenly it becomes this… You announce me as your Luna after accepting them into your pack.”
“Our pack,” he corrected. “I cannot wait any longer. The more we delay, the more anxious I become.”
“Why anxious?” I asked.
He lowered his head, pressing his forehead to mine. “I’m afraid you’ll regret choosing me and might run away.”
I chuckled. “Why? Did you do something bad behind my back? Is that why you’re anxious?”
“No, I didn’t. You know, my thoughts are different from others. I don’t think I’m emotional, either. I can easily kill someone without compassion or caring about their background. If they do wrong, they’re out. But you are different from me. You are softhearted, compassionate. It makes me think we’re opposites.” He confessed quietly, making me pause.
So, this is what he had been thinking about. Honestly, I’m not so holy, either. I also kill without hesitation. I get revenge, too.
Who would’ve thought he had been pondering these emotions for so long?
I wrapped my arms around his waist and buried my face in his chest. “I told you, since I’ve already chosen you as my Alpha and I’m now your Luna, I will stay by your side. As long as you remain faithful to me and love me, I’ll stay with you against all odds. Besides, you have never hurt me or made me feel that I’m not enough, and I’m happy to be with you, Lucien.”
His arm around my waist tightened as he buried his face against my neck, inhaling my scent. He didn’t speak for a while; we just hugged in this position, ignoring the other howls from the wolves as the music played.
It wasn’t until he broke the silence. “Now that you are mine, I won’t let you go. There’s no turning back from being my Luna, Scarlett.”
Although it sounded like a threat, I couldn’t help but feel amused. “You too–you are mine, Alpha. I hope you won’t betray 1/4

my trust…” I chuckled and joked, “…otherwise, the Supreme Council will have a headache if I propose another bond dissolution.”
“I won’t let that happen,” he swore solemnly.
I just chuckled and let it go.
When we finished dancing–well, the music was still playing, but Kathleen called us to join their small circle. It was already a small group, since some were wasted and couldn’t think straight, some were sleeping deeply on the ground, while others said they would head back home first–especially Alisa and the others. They had a new house in this pack given by Lucien so they could move in right away.
So we joined Kathleen, who was like a busy bee, buzzing around and refusing to stop until we agreed. When we reached them–Lucien noticed that Kathleen and the Alpha named Draco were sitting next to each other. He asked Kathleen to move aside for us.
That’s how we ended up sitting between them.
I couldn’t help but sigh helplessly and glanced at Draco, who didn’t seem offended at all.
“Sorry about that.”
Alpha Draco smiled gently and shook his head. “It’s nothing. I understand.”
I smiled, nodded, and was about to speak when Lucien used his body to block me from talking to Draco.
I raised my eyebrows and looked him in the eyes. “Are you drunk?”
He frowned. “I’m not. I just don’t like you smiling and talking with another man.”
Oh. It seemed the alcohol he bragged about earlier had finally started to affect him, making him display his true feelings without restraint.
So, now he openly expressed how he felt, even his anxieties and this issue about me speaking with another man.
I sighed helplessly and leaned on his shoulder. “Aren’t I your Luna? I’m yours already–you can rest assured now.”
Previously, I never could have said such reassuring words. My past made me doubt the intentions of men who approached me–I’d even thought Lucien would be the same, but he wasn’t.
He patiently waited and stayed by my side, even knowing how long it might take for me to fully accept him, especially after dissolving my old bond just months before. He was always faithful and ready to lend a hand or a shoulder to cry on- though, thinking back, I was stubborn and chose to handle things alone, maybe making him feel unneeded.
But now, I examined myself and saw that I relied on him a lot, and never once did I hear him complain. When I asked about this, he said he was happy I was slowly accepting his presence, letting him be part of my life, which he had always wanted.
Now, I don’t turn away or doubt myself, because if it’s him, I can accept and trust. What I feel isn’t just dependence–I trust him and I’m slowly letting him into my heart, allowing myself to lean on him and take my time accepting him in my life.
I watched as Lucien’s lips curved up at my words. His eyes shone under the moonlight, gazing deeply at me, then his eyes fell on my lips as he gulped.
“I want to kiss you.”

I paused, feeling heat rush to my face. When the warriors heard him, they froze, then started shouting.
“Whoa! I never thought I’d see this!”
“Go on and kiss each other, we don’t mind!”
“Ahh! My heart is so happy!”
That last shriek was none other than Kathleen.

When I saw Lucien was seriously considering it, I quickly put my hand to his mouth and pushed him away. “No.”
He frowned. “You don’t like me anymore?”
“It’s not about that!” I gritted my teeth, feeling like my face was as red as a tomato.
He tilted his head and gently kissed my palm, freezing me in place as his eyes locked onto mine. “Then why?”
I grit my teeth, ignored their teasing, pulled his collar, brought my face close to his ear and whispered, “Let’s do it when we’re alone.”
He paused for a few seconds, processing my words, then his eyes lit up and he leaned in. “Can I do what I want?”
Seeing Kathleen and the others staring at us with excitement and anticipation, I bit my lip and reluctantly nodded.
He nodded, satisfied. “Then I’ll behave for now.”
I didn’t know if the alcohol simply made him honest and open, or had affected his mind completely. I just hoped he wouldn’t remember any of it tomorrow.
When they saw we didn’t kiss in the end, everyone clicked their tongues in disappointment.
