I could no longer bear to hear the obscenity in their words, especially not in front of the kids. Before the man further thought about what he shouldn’t while looking at me with those lustful eyes, especially their eyes fell on my chest–since I was only wearing a brassiere, remembering that I had taken off my clothes earlier, using it to stop the bleeding of Archer’s friend’s wounds.

It was a good thing that while fighting with the second man earlier, slamming him onto the wall, I had scooped five of the children and put them behind me, completely hiding them behind me.

It seems that they can recognize who is the bad adult and who is the one who come to protect them since they didn’t cry nor tried to pry away from my hands earlier.

“What? Can’t find someone to threaten me?” I sneered, turning my gaze at the third man in front of me.

His pupils shook, filled with hatred yet he didn’t say anything.

“Who ordered you?” I used my aura to press him further, prying his lips, “Who is this lord that you’re talking about who seemed to be interested in me?”

However, what interest me was the way he seemed to had broke something from his teeth as his blodd started spilling out from his mouth, looking at me with clear hatred.

“Y… You will die by his hands… soon…”

My gaze went colder, coldly watching as the hatred in his eyes had lost its color as his body slumped onto the ground.

“Big Sister, watch out!”

I immediately acted, throwing the knife I had in my hands precisely to the second man whom I had crushed its useless organ and hit it on his heart.

Of course I had been watching every of their move, especially the first and second man who was still alive.

The moment they acted, they’re dead. Unlike the first one who was completely crashed out, screaming in agony as his vision had been taken away from him.

Now that they had been completely wiped out, I turned my back towards the five children. There were three girls and two boys who were hugging each other, trembling while looking around with warry.

“A… Are you here to save us? One girl asked that was wearing a pink shirt, looking at me with timidity and fear while the other had already cried upon seeing my state.

I probably looked horrible to look at right now since I made these kids cry.

“Y… You’re hurt, big sister…” the girl who cried had a pony tail, said while hiccuping in between of crying.

I paused, taken a back by their words and a soft chuckle escape from my lips.

“I’m fine. I’m sorry for letting you all witness that.” I was referring to the killing and blood.

They are children and they should be carefree, think about playing and their toys yet they had to witnessed killing someone.

I couldn’t even shout at them to close their eyes especially that I had to move and think fast to outsmart my opponent. If they weren’t distracted, they might have successfully use the children as hostage against me and it might not end easily like how it ended now.

They got killed by their own foolishness and lustfulness.

They shook their head. “It’s fine, this is the real world we had. As long as there are bad guys alive, blood sheds, wars, and killing cannot be avoided.”

“It’s survival to the fittest,” a boy, who seemed to be in his teens, answered.

He was also the one who took all the hit that was supposed to be the other kids, clearly stepping up and used his body to protect the other kids who were younger than him that’s why he had bruises in his face and body.

I was about to open my mouth–about to ask them why they were here, how they had been kidnapped, where their parents were–when all those questions died on my tongue.

A strange sensation shot through my head, sharp and overwhelming, nearly knocking me off my feet.

It hurt.

It was a cruel reminder of the price I was supposed to pay.

A price I should have paid earlier–one I had stubbornly ignored, forcing myself to stay conscious because I still had

children to save.

And now, with the poison slowly spreading through my body, even my healing ability couldn’t keep up.

It felt like paralysis.

My limbs grew heavy, unresponsive.

The five children rushed toward me, panic written all over their faces.

These pains are nothing compared to the pain that the parents of these children had felt, constantly worrying about the whereabouts of their children. Just by remembering the Nanny that was supposed to protect him, ended up to be the one who put him into danger, my gaze darkened.

I hope Lucien won’t let that Agatha easily escape nor die easily.

“Let’s go,” I softly called the kids, raising the other hand that wasn’t hit by the arrow and patted their head. “I’ll take you to your parents.”

“Are you really okay, big sister?” The kid in his teens, asked, his brows furrowed as he looked at me.

I know that he knew I was in my barely hanging.
