The table split into two, the vase was already broken into pieces on the ground, the books and the other things were all scattered along, in short, everything was a mess.

“Yes, my lord. We will absolutely bring your heir, the Luna and the heir of the Nightshade to you,” one of them vowed, his voice shaking despite the words.

“Now piss off.”

His hand, slick with blood, dragged across his forehead as he exhaled sharply. “If you linger here any longer, I won’t be able to stop myself from killing you.”

That was all it took.

The six wolves scrambled to their feet and fled, not daring to look back.

They were the highest–ranking members of the pack–second only to their lord himself. Each of them held vast connections scattered across the world, networks they could command at will.

And yet, in front of him….

They were nothing more than prey.

The second of the six, gritted his teeth and kicked him on the ankles, making the first of the six frowned as he looked at him in confusion.

The second of the six, gritted his teeth from anger. “Stop asking stupid questions! We are born in this world to submit to the lord. Whatever he wants us to do, we shall obey it.”

“I know, I know. I’m just being curious,” the first pouted. “Am I not allowed to be curious? I’m sure you’re curious either.” The five of them let out a helpless sigh, rubbing their forehead at the first’s behaviour.

“If you remain curious, we might kill you as well.” It was the fifth of the six coldly said, that made the first pout and stopped asking more questions about it.

However, these five high ranking wolves already have an idea what their lord commanded them to take both the Luna and the heir of the Nightshade.

It must be because they can alleviate their lord.

They thought that their lord had finally changed when he got his Luna and thought that maybe their pack would soon be at peace–but as long as their lord would be okay, then they could handle their life living at peace.
