Chapter 201 Regained Her Eyesight
Chapter 201 Regained Her Eyesight
Scarlett
As my body slowly returned to normal, the boiling heat receding little by little until my temperature finally stabilized, my eyelashes fluttered.
I slowly opened my eyes.
Just as I expected.
My eyesight was back.
All I could see was the white cloth blocking my vision.
This was good.
That meant I could still pretend.
Pretend like I haven’t regained my eyesight to confuse them and weaken my impression to the enemies. After all, for them, I had already lost one of the important abilities as a wolf.
Since they started targeting me because I’m ‘weak‘ and ‘blind‘ then I’ll continue to act weak and blind for them.
I wonder how many days have passed ever since I fell asleep just to get my body rested because for me, it still feels like I had just fallen asleep like night but I know I slept for days.
“L…Little wolf?”
Hearing those familiar endearments whose brows furrowed, looking at me in confusion and hesitation as if he was trying to confirm his guesses.
I stopped pretending in front of him, moving my hands and waved at him while smiling brightly.
“Hi, my Alpha.” I playfully teased. “How long have I been sleeping this time?”
I sensed him approaching me. “You’ve been asleep for eight days, equivalent to one week and one day.”
I see. Not bad, considering that my wolf had said I might fall asleep for at least one month to regain my strength and vitality. She kept threatening me to stop being reckless with my body and let myself get rest, otherwise the one who would end up killing me is none other than myself.
The bucket of cold water and the handkerchief slipped from his grasp, hitting the floor with a dull sound as he hurried to my side. His hands cupped my face gently, fingers brushing my cheeks as he reached for the cloth covering my eyes. I stopped him.
My hand lifted, lightly pressing against his wrist before he could remove the blindfold.
“Don’t.”
His brows creased immediately, worry and confusion crossing his face
“Why?” he asked softly. “Does it still hurt? You can see now… right?”
So he noticed.
Of course he did.
The corner of my lips curved upward as I nodded, not intending to hide it from him. “I can, but I don’t want my blindfold to be removed.”
Before he could ask, he paused and seemed to have already guessed what I was planning to do. As expected from someone who understood me better.
“Is your body hurting or anything?” he asked, gently caressing my cheeks with his cold hands that made me shiver from his touch but I didn’t move away.
I shook my head, rubbing my face on his hands. “No, it’s all good and I’ve rested enough. I’m still planning on letting them think that i was still blind especially that it seems they had targeted me along with our son.”
His brows furrowed. “You’re not planning to use yourself as bait, don’t you?”
I smiled, cupping his hands and pulling him closer to me as I gave him a smooch on his lips.
“You’re so cute,” I kissed his lips again. “I love you.”
He sighed helplessly and responded to my kiss. “I love you too, but there’s no way I’d let you ever leave my sight again so that you can recklessly use your body as bait or anything.”
Chapter 201 Reggined Her Eyesight
I chuckled and didn’t comment on it, instead, I tacitly changed the subject before he could realize what I would do, after all, he’s damn quick–witted and intelligent. Fooling someone whose mind works quickly is the same as hitting and talking to the wall.
“What happened to the kids?” I asked. “They are safe, right?”
“Hm.” He nodded. “Shum and Kane were protecting them while I was not present–along with Kathleen who would sometimes visit them.”
I raised my brows and looked at him suspiciously. “You have let Kathleen manage the pack again, right?”
He looked away guiltily. “Well, in the first three days, I had let her manage before I managed the pack again.”
Knowing him, I know that he won’t still be able to consentrate on the pack if something had happened to me and usually he would hand the authority to his sister to help him manage the pack while he was attending me.
I rubbed my forehead and couldn’t think of any better solution to this. I could only send my pity to Kathleen for having a brother and sister–in–law like us.
“You should compensate Kathleen well.” I said, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“She said she doesn’t need it,” he replied. “It was a perfect work for her to make herself busy and stop thinking about useless things that’s why she said she agreed to manage the pack for us.”
Hearing this, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, knowing that she was trying to stop herself from thinking too much especially that up until now, the Alpha still hasn’t visited the Nightshade to come for Kathleen.
And she’s probably thinking that he had already accepted her divorced paper and was trying to make herself busy so that she won’t feel sad nor feel uncomfortable at the fact that her Alpha didn’t come, already accepting the fact that they’re divorced.
Damn.
I rubbed my brows. “Did Alpha Draco come and visit Kathleen?”
As expected, Lucien shook his head. “He didn’t and I won’t let him come in if he ever dares to come to visit Kathleen.”
I let out a heavy sigh. “Just leave it to them. Kathleen seemed to be sure to heal herself and stopped thinking about him anymore. But I’m not sure if she can let go of him.”
After all, it was the first time Kathleen had fallen in love and it was the first time that someone like her would avoid being in a relationship or finding her mate like crazy because she wanted to avoid being tied to someone.
Yet, she defied all of it for Draco.
He made her step her foot and allowed herself to be tied to someone despite the fact that she always wanted freedom.
