Chapter 203 His Betrayal

Chapter 203 His Betrayal

Archer

I rubbed my eyes, yawning as stretched my armsonly to hit someone solid

Claude.

My drowsiness vanished instantly.

My gaze sharpened as I looked at him, brows kitting together. Why am I on your back?

He didn’t answer.

Instead, he moved swiftly, opening the large cabinet hidden behind the clothes and setting me inside.

Claude? My voice wavered as confusion crept in. What’s wrong?

He looked different.

Too serious.

S

It was the same expression he used the first time we met and also when he had killed the one who went to our cell who had come to stop me from crying.

The air around him felt heavydangerously still.

Without thinking, I lowered my voice.

What’s wrong?I whispered, my heartbeat tightening in my chest. What’s happening?

He pressed his finger on my fingers to hush me. No matter what you hear, don’t come out here. You get me?

Fear and panic flashed in my eyes. What’s going on?

He had been knocking on our room, trying to get in,he whispered and explained. Now he had gone quietI believe he just went to get the keys to open the room.

My eyes widened, and before I could even open my mouth, the closet door was already closed.

I heard his footsteps retreating.

I pressed my lips together, my hands curling into fists as my heart began to pound. Holding my breath, I leaned closer and peered through the small crack between the wooden panels,

Outside, Claude stood with his back halfturned to me.

In his hand was a knife.

I watched as he calmly wiped the blade clean, his movements practicedtoo practiced for someone his age. I didn’t even know where he had hidden it. I couldn’t remember him ever carrying one.

It was as if it had simply appeared in his hand when he needed it.

I couldn’t help but stare at his face. His face was calm yet I could feel the murderous intent from it that he didn’t even bother to hide.

What is he doing? Is he waiting for the person outside to unlock the door?

What would he do? Would he fight him like he has done before?

I was about to push the cabinet open, only to hear the sound of a familiar clang ringing on it.

It was lockedmore like it had been wrapped with a chain and locked to prevent me from opening it.

(*

As if hearing the chain rang, I saw him paused from wiping the knife, raising his head and accurately locking an eye on me.

My heart almost paused at how dead serious he was, and those eyes were piercingly glaring at me as if he was telling me to not move, make a noise, and make trouble for him.

Seeing this, I couldn’t help but gulp, my heart almost popped out from my mouth.

I instinctively nodded my head, covering my mouth with both of my palm, preventing any leaking noise that could alert the enemy as I watched him turn his head back on wiping his blade.

I don’t know why but the moment I heard the clicking sound in the doorknob, indicating that the other party from the outside had managed to open it, my heart tightened.

I could even hear the loud thump of my heart,

Can’t we just call papa for help? However, there was already no time for us to call for help.

Chapter 203 His Betrayal

There was only one window in my room but it had a metal gate from the outside of the window to prevent someone from entering my room without permission, but it also prevents us from using the window as a form of escape.

What should I do? If I had known that the reason Claude had helped me fall asleep was so that he could put me inside the cabinet and lock me inside.

The moment the door creaked open, I almost let out a squeak.

Claude moved instantly.

The knife vanished behind his leg, slid smoothly into his sock as if he had done it a hundred times before. His posture relaxed in the blink of an eye, shoulders loosening, expression flatteningno trace of tension left behind.

As if nothing had happened.

Where’s Archer, Claude?

The voice was familiar. Gentle. Too gentle.

I recognized it at once.

The man stood by the door, brows slightly furrowed in concern, feigning ignorance. But his eyes told a different story- sharp calculating, sweeping across the room inch by inch, lingering on corners, shadows, anywhere a child could hide. Anywhere I could hide.

It was none other than Shun, who had claimed to be monitoring us and whom Claude had claimed that I shouldn’t think too much because he was just sent to monitor us, completely ignoring my words that I felt his vibes had changed and I don’t like him.

He knows about it yet he told me otherwise so that I would not think over deeply about it and he would execute his plan- to lock me up and hide me while he protects me.

Just by thinking about it made my knuckles turn white.

Claude just tricked me!

He tricked me!

He went with the Alpha to visit the Luna,I heard Claude calmly answered, not even standing up on the bed while his gaze was staring intently at Shun.

Is there something wrong, Mr. Shun?Claude added, his voice calmpolite eventhe same tone he used with everyone. If I hadn’t seen it myself, I would’ve never known.

There was no trace of the murderous aura he had released moments ago. No tension in his shoulders. No edge in his voice. He stood there as if he truly didn’t know that the man in front of him was planning something against us.

As if Mr. Shun hadn’t already crossed the line.

He hadn’t just betrayed us.

He had betrayed Mama and Papa’s trust.

My fingers curled into fists inside the cabinet.

Claude’s familythey really were terrifying. Not because of brute strength alone, but because of how easily they could turn trusted wolves from other packsluring them in, binding them with fear or promises, then using them like disposable blades.

And in Montero’s case-

They wanted us.

It was also the same with Nanny’s case.

Their socalled loyalty towards my parentstowards the packwas too shallow for them to easily turn their back to us.

Claude, I believe you’re part of the lord’s wings, why are you making everything difficult?Shun asked, tilting his head as if he couldn’t understand him at all. If you would hand Archer, I won’t make it hard for you.

Claude was silent.
