I could helplessly watch myself being dragged by Kathleen and I, too, couldn’t help but be curious about what she was up to -what she was planning to talk with Nick to solve his worries.

I wonder what kind of worries Nick was facing. I couldn’t see it in his face since he usually wore a cold expression on his face and never did once I remembered seeing him laugh or smile. I also never heard him talk a lot to us except towards Nick.

Which is why sometimes I even forgot about his existence since aside that he lacks presence which is suitable for assassins, he doesn’t speak and what’s more scarier was that he could mask his killing intent directly.

He might be exuding an aura that he was neutral, that he doesn’t like or dislike you but if you would let your guards down, he might slice you into pieces.

That’s how his enemies had been killed under him, because they underestimated him.

Just by thinking about it made me chuckle. It was really a good thing that he was on our side–no, that Arnold was on our side.

If Arnold was our enemy, I doubt that Nick would remain in our camp.

And with the two of them here, I can be assured.

“I can’t wait!” Kathleen’s voice was filled with excitement that snapped me from my thoughts.

I sighed helplessly. “What are you planning to do?”

Before she could answer, Garrick, who was standing on the post that we had took, saw us and couldn’t help but exclaimed.

“Luna, blink if you’re being kidnapped!”

Kathleen rolled her eyes. “As if she’s being kidnapped!”

“She’s blinking her eyes rapidly!” Garrick shouted. “You kidnapped her!”

Kathleen paused and looked at me, making me also pause, tilting my head and gave her a warm smile before she turn her gaze back at Garrick, glaring at him.

“See? She’s smiling. Stop with the accusations!” She uttered, flipping her hair at him as she turned hefback, grabbing my wrist as she continued dragging me off.

I could only helplessly watched as Garrick’s eyes widened, looking at me with guilt as he turned around and stopped looking at me–out of sight, out of mind.

Once we arrived at the basement, Kathleen excitedly knocked on the door.

“Hello! Is Nick here?”

The door creak open, showing us Nick and Arnold who was in the middle of studying something–given with the tools scattered on the table while there were one spies that was being gagged, screamed ruthlessly the moment the door was opened as if grabbing his lifeline.

But upon seeing us, the lit in his eyes died down as he stopped struggling.

It seems that Shera and Lira couldn’t take the poisons Arnold had made and it made me wonder what in the world Arnold had done to them to make Vo be this… traumatize that even every Arnold’s movement made him flinch as he watched him warily.

“Oh? It’s clean here and it also doesn’t smell rotten from the corpse.”

Kathleen’s voice snapped me from my thoughts as my eyes roam around the basement.

Indeed. Ever since Arnold had took over this basement, there was no rotten smell, even dust and dirt that could be seen in this basement which he treated as his laboratory.

Arnold chuckled as he paused from his tasks. “Nick and I both have mild mysophobia. We don’t wait to stay in a dirty place

either.”

“But you dissect living, right?” Kathleen asked out of curiosity.

And I could see the way Von twitches and trembles from fear upon mentioning the word dissect.

Arnold smiled softly, nodding his head. “Indeed. However, we only dissect corpse and not living. We usually just dissect them if they are interesting, they had poison on them or something that we can find value after dissecting.”

“So you don’t dissect all the corpses you find or killed?” Kathleen asked and hurriedly explained, shaking her head. “I hope my words didn’t offend you. I’m just curious about how this works.”

Arnold shook his head and let out a soft chuckle as he took off his gloves, throwing it to the metal trashcan where they would just burn it right after as Nick helped him washed his hands and put on a sanitizer.

“Correct.” Arnold nodded his head. “We don’t necessarily dissect them.”

Arnold paused, turning his head as he tilted his head, locking/gazes with Von. “That’s why Mr. Von can be rest assured. We would have given you the poison that came from your pack to ease your death easily. However, that only works if you are willing to trade information with us.”

He sighed, shaking his head. “Take your comrades as an example. They trade me with information so I trade them the poison to ease their journey instead of staying here and being tortured.”

I watched as Von’s eyes reddened from anger and fear.

But despite that he feared Arnold that his body was shaking, his hatred had overwhelmed his fear.

It just that no matter how much he screamed or curse Arnold, we couldn’t understand it at all because of the gag on his mouth that prevent him from speaking.

Arnold smiled at him. “Stop resisting. No one will save you out from him and the lord that you worship probably had meet his own downfall by now.”

Watching as Arnold infuriate him to the point that Von had passed out from anger and fear, I couldn’t help but think that it was really a good thing he was on our side.

“You’re really… scary.” Kathleen uttered in amazement and gave him a thumbs up. “You’re so cool! Thank goodness you’re on our side!”

Arnold paused before laughing as she looked at Kathleen. “I wouldn’t want to get on the Alpha and Luna’s nerves. They are way more scarier than me.”

I couldn’t help but look at Kathleen who was saying those words that would lead to misunderstandings despite it being just a compliment.

If Draco would hear it, this woman would surely face another hellish punishment tonight that she might not be able to get out of her bed.

Arnold paused before laughing out loud. “Thanks for the compliment but if your mate heard that, I would have to watch out for my neck.”

Kathleen also chuckled. “Well, I wasn’t lying.”

“You said that to Nick three years ago too,” Arnold chuckled, making me pause.

I don’t seem to remember it and looking at Kathleen’s reaction, I doubt she remembered about it since back then she had this kind of mouth that could make the other person misunderstand what she meant since it’s ambiguous.

I couldn’t help but raise my brows at Kathleen. “I’ll tell Draco about this.”

As if she had become a cat being stepped on her tail, she looked at me in fear. “I really didn’t mean anything about it! Just out of spun, you know! Just a compliment! I don’t even remember saying those to Nick either!”

I rolled my eyes at her. “It was a good thing you love being free back then and doesn’t want to get involved to any types of relationships nor plan to find your mate–otherwise, you would have already a messed up relationships by now or might become the number one playgirl in the Nightshade.”
