Chapter 230-

Chapter 230

Scarlett

The three warriors shifted back into their humanoid forms as they approached me, their expressions sharp and alert.

“Luna,” one of them whispered, “there are three wolves guarding ahead. We scouted first. If they sense us, we’ll draw them away so you won’t be caught immediately.”

Before I could respond, Claude spoke calmly.

“You don’t have to.”

All three warriors looked at him. Even I, gaze at him, waiting for him to speak.

“Those three?” he continued, voice steady. “I know them. They’re probably gambling again with desks and drinking liquor even in daylight. They won’t be paying attention to their surroundings once they were engrossed to their games.”

He crouched slightly, observing the direction of the wind. “If we minimize our scent and don’t speak, they won’t notice.

The warriors exchanged glances before breathing a sigh of relief, thinking that we had to fight our way to sneak to their basement where they hid the other warriors and of course, the Alpha.

I nodded my head. “Do you remember the way to their basement? Or prison where they would send the traitors or spies and tortured them?”

Claude’s jaw tightened slightly. “There are four basements in this pack.”

“Have you been to them before?” I asked.

He paused for a while as if he was recalling something from his memory.

“Yes,” he answered flatly. “But I don’t remember which one exactly.”

My brows drew together. “I see…”

He didn’t look at me and let out a cold chuckle. “That old bastard had locked me in one of them and tortured me there for theee days and three nights that I couldn’t even remember which family I was born to, much less about the path.”

Before I could speak, he added. “However, if I see the structure, I would be able to tell that I’ve been there before-the basement where he had sent me seemed to be the original basement while the other three were just flecoy to prevent anyone from being able to raid the basements directly.”

Just like what we’re doing now.

For a moment, none of us knew what to say.

I rubbed my brows and watched as the three warriors looked at Claude with a hint of pity upon hearing his background.

“Don’t look at me that way.” He suddenly said that made us paused, hearing him add. “I’m not pitiful and I don’t think what I have experienced is pitiful either. I survived so it means I’m stronger than anybody.”

They all hurriedly nodded their head after reflecting their actions. “You’re right. It was wrong of us to think that way

Claude ignored them and pointed ahead. “If my memory serves me right, that path would lead to the basement but as for the other basements or if there were guards guarding it, I would have no idea how many they are nor the exact path of each

Jerry, one of the warrior, nodded lus head. “That’s already enough. The four of us will spht up”

Before I could speak, another warrior also cleared his throat and agreed with Jerry suggestion. That’s right. It would be better of us to split up.”

He added. Each of us will check one basement we find the Alpha, we’ll report back immediately and Claude should stay with the Luna-we saw his skills and he’s a great help

Hearing this, I couldn’t help but frown. “We cannot underestimate the Montero. Take a look at my Alpha, he got caught. How much more the three of you if you work alone?”

Jerry sighed helplessly and shook his head. “We will be careful and besides it’s better this way so that it won’t be time consuming. If we would go together, there’s a high risks that we would get found out or that the Alpha might have already in critical situation.”

However, knowing that both of them had been working, training like assassins-like shadows along with Kane and Kane had also approved with their skills, I nodded my head.

We cannot afford to lose time.

“Fine. Since there’s no other way…” I looked at them in the eyes. “… let’s go with that plan. Just be safe.

I closed my eyes briefly and summoned her.

“Kaya” I called her out.

A ripple of spiritual energy unfurled from my chest. My wolf emerged in her spectral form-massive, radiant, her eyes glowing like molten scarlet in the darkness.

The warriors instinctively straightened.

“Go with them.” I muttered as I controlled her spiritual energy and split her into three.

Her big and massive scarlet form had shrunk as it split into three pieces.

1 watched as the three of them glared at me. “You’re courting death, Scarlett! Are you insane!”

I rubbed my temples, brows furrowing as my head started aching even more when she yelled at me.

“Stop yelling, it hurts my head,” I complained. “Just go with the three of them and make sure to repo to me once you found Lucien. Try to call Lucien’s wolf to feel where he is.

Kaya’s face darkened even more. “You’re really gonna be the death of me!”

1 let out a soft chuckle. “Go with them and stop getting angry. Time waits for no one. I’ll be fine. If you keep getting you’ll end up being bald”

Kaya let out a low growl before she hutted as her three versions had went to the three warriors who was in the state of upon seeing Kaya in front of them.

1 norded my head at them. Don’t worry, she’ll be the one who will contact me and she can provide timely help just if something happens”

Remember to stay safe and run away your life matters mure. I added, looking at them serious

They snapped back from their state of shock, nodding their heads at me. “We will, Luna! Take care and stay safe you both!” I watched as they turned their back as they slipped from the shadows.

Seeing that they had disappeared, leaving me alone with Claude, I took a deep breath, trying to calm the waves in my body.

Especially feeling uncomfortable that I couldn’t feel Kaya within me but still I could feel and sense where she is, making me feel relieved. If our connection had been cut off it would mean that something happened to her and I’ll be the first to know about it.

I snapped from my thoughts when Claude spoke.

“Are you okay, Luna?”

His eyes surveyed my face, and even without looking at the mirror, I could already guess that I’m paler than usual right now.

I smiled, nodding my head and gave him an ‘okay’ sign. “I’m doing well. Let’s go.

While we took the different path from the warriors, he still wasn’t convinced and he was harder to fool than any other kids, even my son.

“I haven’t seen anyone done the same thing as you did,” he said. His brows furrowed as he couldn’t help but uttered. “However, given with your wolf who scold you and was angry-it seemed that what you did was a risky move.”

Before I could open my mouth, I heard him add. “It seems like I finally know the reason why everyone monitors you-it’s to prevent from something like this to happen.”
