Scarlett’s POV
:.
Amanda’s glare could have burned a hole through my skin, but I met it without flinching.

“Why?” she demanded, her voice a mix of outrage and disbelief. “Why in the Goddess’s name would you suggest this kind of thing?! Is this your revenge? By getting in my way, huh?!”
I tilted my head slightly, letting a calm smile tug at the corners of my lips. “You’re being delusional. The world doesn’t revolve around you. I did it because I believe in potential, Amanda.”
She scoffed. “Potential? From them? You must be blind and sick in the head. Better for you to get checked.”
Kathleen sneered and helped up the Omega who had been yelled at. “Sick? Blind? You’re the one who’s sick and blind! I’ve never met someone as delusional as you–well, aside from that mistress of Alexander.”
Amanda’s nostrils flared and she glared at Kathleen. “You think you can scold me just because you are Alpha Lucien’s sister, huh?!”
Kathleen rolled her eyes at her. “Even if I wasn’t, I’d still scold you. You better be thankful that I am Lucien’s sister, because if not, I’d already have thrown you down on that muddy ground.”
Amanda’s face crumpled in an instant and a hint of disgust flashed across her features. “Ew! Such a disgusting thing!”
I mimicked her. “Ew! How disgusting you are! A fully grown adult still acting like a brat.”
“What? You’re fighting me over that Omega?” she said in disbelief. “She’s nothing more than a servant! Perfectly suited to this muddy place!”
I stepped forward, deliberately closing the space between us. “I was the one who suggested to Lucien that there are many intelligent individuals among the Omegas–individuals who, with proper training and learning, could take on different jobs. They could contribute in ways beyond cleaning stalls and serving food. That’s why I came to the Nightshade Pack, not just for the alliance, but to help it grow and become stronger.”
Before she could speak, I looked her up and down and sneered. “Compared to you, they are better and more worth investing in.”
Amanda’s face reddened with anger. She gave an incredulous laugh. “Stronger? By teaching these Omegas how to read or muck stalls better?”
I kept my tone level. “Stronger, because when everyone feels a sense of achievement in contributing to the strength of the pack, unity follows. And unity, Amanda, is more powerful than any birthright. But I guess you know nothing about that.”
She blinked at me, as if I’d started speaking another language–faking her laugh, masking her anger. “You are really delusional. Do you honestly believe these… these bottom–feeders can be warriors? Leaders? They were born weak. They were born to serve.”
My smile vanished. The composure I had been holding on to snapped. I looked at her in contempt. “No. They

were just born without privilege–without rights. You can say that because you don’t know their position nor have you experienced what they have. The only reason you enjoy certain advantages is because of your noble birth. You didn’t earn it. You inherited it.”
Her eyes narrowed dangerously. “Is it my fault that I am born above them?”
“No. However, your fault is you view them as if they are merely your servants. You’re not a noble, you’re just a brat,” I answered coldly.
“You shut your mouth, Scarlett.”
I tilted my head again, this time letting the faintest trace of challenge seep into my voice. “Shut my mouth? You were the one who opened yours and let your nonsense spill out. Afraid to hear the truth? Well, I can’t blame you. The truth hurts.”
The Omega girl, whom Kathleen had helped and who had just been standing at the sideline with a proud smirk, watching us as though she was the one who raised me, shifted uncomfortably, looking between us. Her face was still pale, but there was a spark in her eyes now–like someone had just lit a match in the dark.
I ignored Kathleen’s gossipy and smug look and instead focused on the Omega who was also watching me with those bright, sparkling eyes.
“You know what I think?” I continued, my voice steady. “I bet your strength isn’t even greater than hers.” I nodded toward the Omega girl.
Amanda’s jaw dropped. Her eyes were wide in disbelief. “You’re comparing me… to her? Are you sick?!”
I arched a brow. “Why not? You talk a lot about how weak she is. Why don’t you prove it to us? Show us how true your words are. I’ll bow down to you if you are as strong as you claim.”
For a moment, silence hung in the air, heavy and taut. Then the Omega girl looked at me, and I gave her a reassuring smile, nodding at her. She straightened her back and boldly stepped forward, surprising both of
“I’ll take the challenge,” the Omega said quietly, but with unmistakable determination. “I’ll show you that Omegas can’t easily be underestimated. What you can do, we can too.”
Amanda spun toward her as if she’d been slapped. “You will what?”
“You heard me,” the Omega repeated, her voice firmer now. “I’ll show you.”
Amanda’s cheeks flushed, a mix of anger and embarrassment. “This is ridiculous.” She turned to me. “You are not even a Luna, yet you’re acting like one. You have no authority to-”
“I never said I was,” I cut in smoothly. “I’m not Luna. I’m the advisor of this pack–approved by your Alpha.” I let the words settle for a moment, making sure everyone heard me clearly. “But I believe Lucien will support me. The Alpha you are trying to get will surely support me. Go on and complain to him like you always do. In fact…” I met her eyes in a direct, deliberate stare, “…I’m waiting for it.”
Amanda’s nostrils flared. “You–a broken Luna who isn’t even from this pack–daring to lecture me like this? Just you wait! You three are dead meat to me the next time I see you!”

Her gaze flickered toward Kathleen, who stood off to the side with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face. Whatever Amanda was searching for, she didn’t find it. With a final glare in my direction, she turned on her heel and stormed off, muttering something under her breath about ‘wasting her time‘ and ‘a bunch of idiots.‘
As she disappeared, the Omega girl exhaled shakily, her grip on the lead rope loosening.
She looked at us. “Thank you,” she murmured, her eyes glistening.
I gave her a small, reassuring nod. “You don’t need to thank me. Just prove them wrong.”
“Right. Don’t take that brat’s words seriously. That girl has some screws loose in her head, so she can’t be taken seriously,” Kathleen said, tapping her temple.
I let out a soft chuckle–we all laughed. If Amanda learned about this, she would surely curse us out again.
“Will she come and trouble you two again?” the Omega girl asked worriedly.
I chuckled. “No need to worry about that. She can’t beat me anyway. Besides, she’s all talk.”
The Omega girl nodded, determination replacing her earlier uncertainty and insecurity caused by Amanda’s words.
Kathleen stepped forward then, her hands coming together in a slow, deliberate clap. The sound echoed in the stable, drawing my attention. “Now that,” she said with a grin, “was the real Luna talking.”
I shook my head with a faint laugh. “Kathleen-”
“No, I mean it,” she interrupted, her expression earnest now. “You stood your ground. You defended someone who couldn’t defend herself. That’s what a leader does. That’s what people will remember.”
Her words settled in my chest, warm and heavy all at once.
She came closer, lowering her voice conspiratorially. “And the way you shut Amanda down? Priceless. I almost wish my brother had been here to see it. He’d probably have that smug Alpha grin plastered across his face.”
I rolled my eyes. “The last thing I need is for him to get smug about me.”
Kathleen chuckled. “You know that’s how they show their affection and how proud he is of you.”
I didn’t respond to that—instead, I focused on the Omega girl who was still lingering nearby.
“What’s your name?” I asked gently.
“Lira,” she replied.
“Well, Lira,” I said, “remember this moment. The next time someone tells you that you can’t do something, remember today. You made yourself proud by being brave and stepping out of your comfort zone.”
She gave me a small smile and dipped her head before moving away, leading the horse toward the far side of
the stables.
